Re: ENGLAND VS INDIA ODI SERIES RATINGS
India.
Gautam Gambhir 3. Usual waste of starts and not much else from a senior player.
Ajinkya Rahane 3, one unconverted start and 2 failures and lost his place.
Rohit Sharma 6. Played a good knock in one game, and unsurprisingly, got out early next time.
Virat Kohli 5. Played one terrific knock, and got a couple of starts but unlike his usual self, filed to convert those.
Yuvraj Singh 5. A few starts, but no real special performance from Yuvraj, new ODI regulations mean he'll have to resettle dwon into his bowling.
Suresh Raina 9. Superbly consistent with the bat, chipped in with a few useful overs, and usually fielded well.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni 8. was good at the finish, and his captaincy too was pretty much functional, and took his chances behind the stumps.
Ravindra Jadeja 9. was the highest wicket taker for India, kept things quite with the ball, fielded with lots of energy, and most importantly, has looked like fitting in as the number 7 batsman with useful, flexible contributions.
R Ashwin 6. Wasn't at his best, but picked up some wickets and did an OK job.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar 8. Was brilliant with the new ball, if he failed to pick up early wickets, he kept the batsman quiet with his swing and accuracy and helped build pressure. Chipped in with the bat in the last match.
Shami Ahmed 6. Bowled well along side Kumar and provided some crucial strikes.
Ishant Sharma 6. Didn't start off well, but came back well in the latter part of the seris.
Ashok Dinda 3 picked up a couple of wicket but was expensive.
Gautam Gambhir 3. Usual waste of starts and not much else from a senior player.

Re: ENGLAND VS INDIA ODI SERIES RATINGS
England.
Alastair Cook 7. Was consistent, but was at the wrong end of some rather poor umpiring calls.
Ian Bell 7. Started and finished the series well, but failed in the other 3 matches. Couldn't really set the pace of the innings at the top.
Kevin Pietersen 6. A few starts when he really looked like blasting through, and one determined innings when he wasn't on top of his game.
Joe Root 8. Pretty good start for a young player. Showed reasonable consistency and great adaptability with the bat, and performed the 5th bowler responsibilities well.
Eoin Morgan 4. Wasn't Morgan's best series with the bat, often gave his wicket away.
Samit Patel 6. Set up England's first win, then chipped in with the ball at times.
Jos Buttler 5. Kept ok, and blasted a couple of big hits at the end when he got a chance.
Craig Kieswetter 3. Didn't convince with bat, wasn't the sharpest with gloves.
Chris Woakes 4. Nothing more than OK.
Tim Bresnan 4, was good in the last game, but pretty average otherwise.
James Tredwell 9. Even outbowled Finn and Was England's best bowler.
Steven Finn 7. Was England's leading seamer, loses a point for his rather costly stump smashing.
Jade Dernbach 1. Was hopelessly inconsistent.
Alastair Cook 7. Was consistent, but was at the wrong end of some rather poor umpiring calls.

Re: ENGLAND VS INDIA ODI SERIES RATINGS
Dernbach inconsistent? I can't remember a specialist bowler in my 12 years of watching cricket going for over 6 runs an over 4 ODIs in a row. Thats some consistency!msp83 wrote:England.

Re: ENGLAND VS INDIA ODI SERIES RATINGS
For getting out for 6 today, I would give Kevin Pietersen a 6 for his rating in this series.
