HE's hoenstly just a cretin, I can't wait until the man dies. I seriously can't, I know it's harsh to talk about a human being dying, but I wouldn't care, the man is not a man, he is a creature that is in part destroying boxing stopping the best fights happening, now he has in fairness given us a fight with Donaire and Rigo which is good, but to block this fight from happening at all is ridiculous.

Oh, and also, this is basically just 100% proof that Arum was the main culprit in stopping the FLoyd MAnny fight. It's clear he will only do in house fights. Ridiculous.

Re: Oh Dear Bob Arum, Oh Dear Oh Dear
Guys a leech on boxing and while he was good back in the day and has made many great fights, he is ruining the image and the attraction of the sport through spite towards Shaefer/De La Hoya/Maywetaher etc
Its not just that he wants to be the biggest name in boxing promoting but he doenst want GoldenBoy to be successful
Imo Goldneboy are willing to work with TR as co-promoters (as the source suggests) whereas Arum wouldn't even think about working with GB unless he can make all the money off of the fighter on the other stable
As Alex said, don't care what happens to him atm and hope that he packs it in and lets TR be owned by someone else who will be more flexible with matchmaking

Defo, Eddie Hearn is willing to work with other promoters. I suspect he would work with Frank Warren. But sadly, Frank is like Bob. These guys needs to retire, gracefully.

Re: Oh Dear Bob Arum, Oh Dear Oh Dear
Donaire said on Facebook and Twitter that the contract was just a placeholder with no detailed information, Rafael says otherwise....
Did Bob not even show him the contract or is Donaire finding excuses? I think he would marmalise Mares, so I find it incredibly hard to believe that Donaire doesn't want the fight..

That looks pretty Iron Clad to me, I hate Bob Arum so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Golden Boy even said that Bob Arum is a co-promoter!!!!
The American networks need to do something about this, either Top Rank work together with Golden Boy or stuff them.

Re: Oh Dear Bob Arum, Oh Dear Oh Dear
This has been spilling out all over Twitter for days. Will see if I can dig up the tweets but there was a lot of negative feedback from Donaire over some of the restrictions in the contract.
Yes Arum is a ****, but I have more time for Donaire and am tempted to place some weight on what he's been saying.

Re: Oh Dear Bob Arum, Oh Dear Oh Dear
its not a contract, its a detailed letter. as donaire has stated:
the "contract" has no dates, no venue, no gloves specs, ring size etc.
also states that they have a right to postpone for up to 90 days and after that they can cancel with no conpensation paid if cancelled.
donaire also doesnt want to fight in june, so in any event of it being postponed from may to june, he wont fight and will be paid NADA.
seems ok on donaires side....... arum's still a nob though

Re: Oh Dear Bob Arum, Oh Dear Oh Dear
1. Goldenboy have no responsibility regard the contract payment if GB postpone or cancel the fight.
2. No site, no date, no reprecussion for a cancelled fight 'for whatever reason'.
3. 90 day no questions asked postponement allowed.
Those are some of the things Donaire is saying he doesn't like and doesn't think is fair in the contract posted on boxingscene.

Does this mean there is a boxing promoter who is quite ruthless in business and can be liberal with the truth when it suits them. This is Pulitzer worth stuff but have to say my faith in the sport is getting shaken with every passing day.

Mine too when you consider 50 cent and other promoters would happily make any fight. Hope 50 takes over soon, Arum, he needs to go.

just a pre-contract to allow both boxers to get the juice out of their system.

You think it's ok that GB can cancel at no notice with no compensation? And delay 90 days at their discretion?
Not wanting to take sides, but that doesn't strike me as fair.
Also, as mentioned, are things like ring size and glove size etc not normally part of these things? In which case a contract lacking salient information isn't worth much.
