I'm glad I'm the first to have a go, United are a horrible club and I will always stand up for the rest of the league whenever the supposed greatness of United is used to keep us all in thrall.

I'm ABA though - I hate Chelsea just as much as United, hate Tottenham that much too, City also...but until people start bringing them up, I'll talk about those topics that people do bring up. Like United this, United that furious

I would say it was tragic, but not a disaster

But surely Azzy just saying how a "No team in the modern era ....etc its all above" shouts out several points.
1. being how young & talented they were.
2. succumbing to a fatal crash as technologies & all that are better not to prevent such thing.
But isnt point 1 relevant? or it is going to be ignored because its irrelevant they were youth developed, young, very talented & part of a bit club at the time which happens to now be one of the biggest sports clubs in the world, just because they are simply footballers & not........lets say soldiers?

United are a horrible club
West Brom have players driving around the country in an attempt to get out whilst others spit on opposing players.

Azzy, whats your views on Arsenal? as a club not the team/players, Arsenal FC as a club.

Disaster is relative to each person.

It was a disaster for United as they lost a whole team of players they had developed. It was possibly a disaster for England as they lost a lot of players that could have been mainstays of the team for years.

From an Everton perspective, they were largely unaffected by it I would say, so no disaster for us, however tragic it was.

West Brom has one player, not players, driving to a specific club that he mistakenly believed has been given permission to talk with him.

One West Brom player spat at an opposing player, not on an opposing player.

Just to clear those two points up Wink

Arsenal are a very strange club. It has great history, but doesn't treat its fans well at all, has a very poor community outlook, and the Boardroom is run by Yanks so doesn't understand how they should be running the club. If I was a Gooner I'd be heartbroken at how my club has moved on from its position in the mid-late 90s to what it is today.

Azzy, Arsenal - ok.
You said you dislike Man United, City, Chelsea, Spurs.

Why not Arsenal? Do you think the way the Club has been built since the 90's, over the years, contributes to why they are not on the disliked list?

Everyone is on the disliked list Zebs. Anyone But Anyone. I only listed those four because they are four topical clubs at the moment, unlike Arsenal. I'd be happy to sit here and slag Arsenal off all day!

I don't have any strong dislikes except for some reason I am pleased when Villa struggle.

For me, it's about Everton doing well. I am completely indifferent about anyone else, United, Liverpool included.

I don't really hate any clubs you know. Maybe I'm too nice.

I don't like Dave Whelan or Sheffield United to a degree. I also enjoy beating Spurs, but I don't hate them at all.

Gerrard has clearly gone mad. How could he possibly rate Wilshere so highly.

The way he is talking, you'd expect Wilshere to be winning the Balloon Door in the next few years

I agreed with all that Gerrard said, he is really looking like a complete midfielder that England can build around. Just in time really because Lamps/Gerrard are off into the sunset soon enough. Just need a DM to sit alongside him now.

If I could pick up any player from another Premier League and put him in the Everton side, at the moment I would choose Wilshere I think.

There are positions we need more, but I think he is such a good player already, and massive potential to improve.

I can still see him becoming Xavi's replacement at Barca in a few years time

At the Euros in 3 years' time, this is how I peg the England team:

------- Hart
?? - ?? --- ?? -- ??
-- ?? -- Wilshere
??--- Rooney ---??
-------- ??

Three cast-iron, guaranteed world class players to build a team around. I'd fill it out like this:

------------------- Hart
Walker - Smalling --- Caulker -- Gibbs
------------- Jones -- Wilshere
Walcott ------- Rooney ------- Sterling
--------------- Sturridge

I don't see that Gibbs is that good.

I think Shaw will be ahead of him, as well as Baines.

I also think we need to find someone better than Jones alongside Wilshere

Henderson has impressed me recently too, could be an outside bet to get in the side. Same with Zaha, dependant on how the United move goes down.

I don't rate Smalling higher than Cahill who should still be young enough in 3 years.

Striker-wise it looks like we're struggling a bit. Carroll?

I saw Henderson at CM for the U21s and he impressed me.

I have always rated him since then, but Liverpool has just played him out of position up til recently.

I'd really like Hooper given a chance for England. If people are calling for Holt, Lambert and Le Fondre to be given a try, I would have Hooper ahead of all three of them

Take Le Fondre and sling him on for 10 minutes, that seems like the best tactic!

Henderson had a dog of a year last season, but now he looks like a competent player again. Alongside Wilshere I reckon they could be a dynamic pairing in the middle.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has to be involved somewhere, I forgot about him. Young Danny Potts is a decent LB prospect; although the academy appears to have run a little dry of late.

Rooney Hart and wilshere world class lol good joke Azzy.

How many times has hart fumbled a cross, dropped a corner, lost concentration yet no one mentions anything. When De Gea makes a mistake everyone's quick to attack him.

I said it before and I'll say it again De Gea will turn out to be the qorld class keeper and hart as the arrogant cocky good keeper when thiet careers come to an end.

Wilshere has until 2015 to win the balon dor if not his a failure, for a player to already be better then Scholes at only 19 can only be destined for great things.

Win Balon dor three times in his career, win a major trophy at Araenal aa captain, score a 100 goals at Araenal, become a first team player for barca by the age of 25 winning England the euros or world cup.

Even though I was only wumming when I said it, I still genuinely fail to see why he has to win the Balloon Door to be classed as better than a player who was never even close to winning it. Not even a Top 3 place.

It's a bit like saying Rooney can only be better than Heskey if he wins the Balloon Door

Joe Hart has been the best goalkeeper in England for 3-4 years now. All keepers make mistakes, but compared to the rest, he makes the least number of them. He's the best keeper England have had since David Seaman in his prime.

I put Gibbs in because I can't see Baines being the same player aged 32 as he is now.

Oxo Cube isn't a great player, I'd put him about 8th on my wingers list at the moment and he's only going backwards.

Cahill I just don't rate.

Henderson I quite like, but if you have him AND Wilshere in the middle, I think England would get overrun in the tackle department. You can't afford to have Wilshere getting stuck in, Gerrard had to cover Lampard for years doing that and it took away our best player in midfield as a result. The reason I put Jones in there is that, if he can actually stay fit for longer than 3 games, he has a chance to become our modern-day Paul Ince.

No, no, no, no, no.

Butland has played 20 Championship games and people reckon he's going to be the new Gordon Banks or something. Leave him out of any teams until we've actually seen him handle pressure.

Smalling-Jones leaves out Caulker, who's better than either right now and being younger has the potential to get even better than them.

Walker is rubbish, I hate that he's all we have at RB.

Cleverley will never be an England regular, he's not good enough.

Welbeck the same, he's 4th choice at his club and has never actually looked like he belongs in an England shirt.

Although I haven't seen him, our new RB signing from Barnsley, John Stones is supposed to be pretty handy, so perhaps in a few years he could be an option

7 goals in 11 CL games. Why go to Norwich and battle relegation when you have the chance of playing the biggest sides in Europe (no offence Olly)

Even before this Jan window. In the SPL he should really be doing a Messi/Ronaldo now Celtic have no challengers.

Is this more United fans having a go at a good young player because he plays for a rival?
GSC, no. I agree Hart is a good young player. World class no. Hes over hyped imo. For England hes the best player in his position and the best to come along in that position for a while. Add that to the fact hes English equates to being over hyped. The media will big him up & because people in this country are like sheep they will follow what the media says.
There is an endless list of England players who are "World Class".

I truly feel hes a great keeper. World Class no. But he could still become it.
As Viva said, Hart will make mistakes & there quick to be brushed aside or ignored. De Gea is constantly getting stick for what? Some mistakes but his saves + positives & occasion where he has kept Man United in the match are just ignored by the media/people.
I just think its the English media wanting to put down a foreign player so we can make a claim the best keeper in the Prem is English, lets face it there no other position where the best player is English & its the English league.
Spain, Germany & Italy, best players in the league & positions are mainly from the same country. Premier League cant make the same claim.
