The two let downs for me were Cahill, Cleverley and Welbeck.
Spot on. I thought the balance of Gerrard deeper with Wilshere and Cleverley looked good. We just need someone better than Cleverley to play in there. Carrick isn't the answer as he will sit deeper and you won't have the same balance.
Cahill had a poor game. Was constantly being drawn out and caught out of position and it was Smalling that covered him

Hope The Ox/Young find some form so they can play left flank, or even Sturridge. Welbeck can't be stuck out there.
I think Welbeck might need to do a Sturridge, in that he needs a move to gain first team football.

Welbeck is a decent player, but I'm not sure he is good enough for England.
Did you see the programme for the game that was Ashley Cole's 100th cap featured Baines and not Cole on the fron

Also, where's Cherries this morning? Neymar was awful, two open goals missed and generally shocking. What a let down.

I think Welbeck could do a job up front for England, not on the wings.
But he needs to get first team football, and develop his game through playing. Not sitting behind RVP, Rooney and Hernandez at Utd

Brazil don't look in good shape. That may not have been their best XI but it still had some players that you would think would be more troublesome. Shame for them, but I can't see them winning the 2014 World Cup like that. Spain, Germany, even Uruguay look better than them on the evidence I've seen recently.

He might be one of the best options we have, but I think that says more about the quality of our strikers really. To be competitive at the latter stages of major tournaments, we need better than Welbeck

If I'm honest I'd prefer to see Carroll play over Welbeck as I think coming off the bench Carroll would offer us a different dimension, with say 20/25 mins left. Especially if we're losing and need to go more direct.
I like the formation Roy played last night. It really gets the best out of what we have.

What is it a 2 man squad?
If so:
Goalkeepers (3)
Joe Hart
John Ruddy
Jack Butland
Defenders (8)
Glen Johnson
Leighton Baines
Luke Shaw
Kyle Walker
Stephen Caulker
Gary Cahill
Chris Smalling
Phil Jagielka
Midfielders (8)
Theo Walcott
Jack Wilshere
Steven Gerrard
Tom Cleverley
Jordan Henderson
Phil Jones
Ashley Young
Alex Oxlade Chamberlain
Strikers (4)
Wayne Rooney
Andy Carroll
Daniel Sturridge
Danny Welbeck
Just off the top of my head tbh

It's a 23 man squad. Haven't you played any football manager?

Reckon you aren't far off with that squad. But I'd still say Cole over Shaw at that stage. Cole has one last tournament left in him.

I'd quite like to get rid of most of the old timers. Only one left would be Gerrard for me

I'd take Lampard still, dependant on where he plays next season. The guy is still a quality footballer in my eyes.

Sadly Ben Foster doesn't want to be a reserve keeper, so his international career is basically over.

I am. He did so for the Euros, saying he didn't want to be away from his family for several weeks if he wasn't going to play. Roy said 'okay Ben' and scratched his name off the list.

He's
Big John got injured just at the wrong time. Was in the best form I've seen from him yet, and under Dave Watson you could see his game was improving. I just hope he comes back from his injury just as fit and strong as before

Re: Euro Division Homepage XLVIII
I don't think Welbeck offers much anywhere to be honest, his work rate is underwhelming compared to the likes of Walcott / Carroll, even Bent, and his passing and knowledge of the game isn't where it needs to be.
Give him a £15m move to Everton, or a loan spell with a club that will play him week-in, week-out, and he's got the potential to be very special.

King Billy back to Forest. Should be interesting/hilarious.
On the bright side he has a record at this level few can match.
On the down side he falls out with every owner.

Right guys, there is this Norwich fan on twitter who is annoying the heck out of me. He moans moans moans about Hughton's style of play, saying he pays to be entertained.
But you don't pay to be entertained. You pay to go watch football, and support your team. If you wanna be entertained go to the theatre or watch WWE

More good news that Fawaz seems to have taken a hint that the way his brother ran the club was much more successful.
