Season 2 begins this week with tactics for the first game due by 11.59 on Friday 15th February

PLEASE NOTE - this season you will receive a 1 point deduction if you do not submit tactics (as well as a default loss) and a 1 point deduction if you do not vote. If you know in advance you are unable to do either, then you must state so on the Holidays/Days Off page, to avoid the penalties.

Fixtures for season 2 are up for both leagues

They say Carrick does the work that no-one sees, but Scholes was in plain sight scoring 15 a season and pinging 60 yard balls around for fun for years...that fact is truly bizarre.

One of them is already in the league, one of them is rubbish and not worth 1/4 of the £20m, one is a 6/10 player in my eyes, and the other is in terrible form. Are you sure you're looking at the right TP limit? Shocked

That was what prompted the conversation yesterday.

Sod was clearly a bit bored and looked back at the records of the voting for both the Balloon Door and WPotY.

Scholes has been nominated before, but has never received a single vote.

In fairness it's a bit unbelievable, when people like Nani and El Hadji Diouf have.

The limit goes up to £20m this week, but in two weeks it goes up to £20.5m and there's nobody at £20.5m! Will we have to wait 4 weeks for the £21m players or can we arrange a one off £1m jump for 2 weeks time?

Wait, think your correct Azzy. Pretty much all of them are rubbish, only one of them is worth getting as someone in the league will bum him and probs pay over the odds or a lawyer offer will get 20% more making you £4m. Im looking at someone 0.5m above, who everyone will want in the next TP rise.

TP limit doesn't go up this week, it's next week. It states pretty clearly on the TP page.

Doumbia isnt that good. He'd be a waste of monies IMO.
Mikel was good in ACON. In actual fact Chelsea probably missed him.

We can go straight from £20m to £21m, but that'll be it for boosts.

There are a decent selection of players that will become available for the start of season 3 and it would be good to keep it that way

I can't say there is a single player in the £20m bracket I would want, except the one already in the league.

Mikel is never a £20m player, Doumbia ditto, whilst Podolski is in terrible form and only plays well when he is a lone striker for Cologne

Even worse that Chelsea actually miss a player like him in the center.

Podolski I dont rate. He flopped at Bayern and hes hardly setting the PL alight. Great shot power & some pace, that all I see which he bring to the table. Showed in the Euros hes ineffective from the flank.
Only reason I would buy him is in the hope some other manager wants him so I can amke a quick profit or a lawyer offer.

Your assessment on Podolski is the same as mine.

Apart from last season, he was exceptional for Cologne too frequently. He had made him name playing for Germany because he had a good understanding with Klose, but that is it really.

There's not much in the £21m bracket either, it's £22m where the quality really starts to kick in
