Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter troll right wing USA

Swagger and Zeb Coulter's state of the Union address on Monday Night Raw has raised the ire of supporters of the ring wing Tea Party in the states. Notable conservative blogs have been up in arms about their promo, and Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler stating that notable right-wing commentators such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Alex Jones are fans of the duo.

Jones' infowars site posted this response to the promo.

Funnily enough, we were discussing this on the podcast last night. Most probably my favourite segment from the WWE part. Better than the shield discussion anyway!

I've been desperate for the WWE to create a storyline like this for ages, my fear is that they're probably to ignorant to realise that Swagger might end up getting face like reactions from a huge section of the moronic fan base

I agree that is a slight worry, would highlight a rather fractured society if he does get a face reaction!

I thought this the other day, when I swear I saw a fan standing up with his hand on his heart when Zeb was cutting a promo, not sure if it was meant to be ironic though from the person or moranic.

The fact that currently they're touring the Deep South certainly doesn't help it, he got a mixed reaction apparantly last night on the SD taping.

As I said on the podcast last night, half of Americans vote for a party whose candidates tend to campaign on anti-immigration platforms and are generally conservative and right-wing.

Patriotism and first amendment rights are usually extolled as positive things in American society.

Hell, even in this country, the majority of the daily national newspapers bought on a daily basis regularly lead with stories that contain a similar sentiment towards immigrants.

So therefore WWE needs to be really careful to consistently hammer home the point that Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter are dangerously extremist, and plain wrong. Otherwise a lot of people are naturally going to be pretty confused as to why they are heels at all.

It's quite a brave move by the WWE and is a nice contrast to earlier times in wrestling where it would be the other way around. Swagger would be the face while Del Rio the evil foreigner.

What about JBL vs Eddie/ Rey? JBL was certainly the heel in those feuds!

Fair enough, I didn't even think of JBL who dropped a lot of his patriotism as the gimmick developed. Strange as his Mexican border promo is probably the funniest segment in wrestling.

With Swagger getting arrested, does anyone think they'll carried on with this storyline?
It could easierly be transfered to someone like Mark Henry or Randy Orton having him squahing the "evil foreigners" like Sin Cara, Khali and Santino then go for ADR at WM.

or they could throw a complete curve ball and put Zeb Coulter as the head of the Wyatts family from NXT. With they're Redneck gimmick the storyline could be easierly switched. I'm not saying have Husky Harris in the World Title at WM but its an option if they really wanted to see the storyline through.

Not a fan of this storyline myself, it's far too political, and therefore sensistive. Some people will lean right, others lean left, to suggest that one is superior to the other by making one side face and the other heel is not right in my view.

Beck didnt slag Wrestling fans until Wednesday so yeah id say this was filmed after his arrest, Beck possibly may just save Swaggers push at least until WrestleMania

Anything that annoys that piece of Poopie Glenn Beck is a plus in my book. That guy is literally insane.
