What is the Be A Pro mode like on Fifa 13?

I feel like a change of game because I've played Madden into submission. I fancy starting a career as a CM.

I don't have online anyway, so I can't right now. I may get it in the future if I feel like punching a hole in a wall.

It was ok on 12 but I wasn't progressing very much with attributes. Everyone seems to go up front but that's what would bore me, barely getting the ball.

My limited gaming time is being spent on Football Manager 2013 on my iPhone. It's handy as any time I have a minute I can have it up and running in minutes and play a few matches.

After starting at Newport County and achieving an unspectacular playoff position in my first season, I was surprisingly offered the role at Wrexham, who had just been promoted into the football league at my expense.

It is now 2022 and I have taken them through the leagues and I am in my fourth season in the Premier League, have just won my first league cup and am realistically targetting the Euro League and a top 4 finish for the first time.

All with a group of players I have largely never heard off (I think Luke Shaw is my only starter I have actually heard of)

What is the depth like on FM on the iPhone? I always thought it would suffer compared to the PC version

I played some FM yesterday. I finished 3rd in Serie A with Pescara following promotion the year before. We lost to CSKA in the CL qualifiers and sit 3rd in our Europa League group and like 9th in Serie A. The fans better realise that finishing 3rd was a freak...

It's no where as deep as the PC version, like you don't pick your coaches and staff, the scouting system consists of two scouts only, there are no detailed training options nor much depth to the tactics. Oh, and you can only do one league at a time, so I could only now manage English based teams (although the other teams are in there).

But you buy and sell players, build a style of play, get them to play how you want them to. I did notice one season how Bari seemed to be a breeding ground for top young talent and then tore their team apart with a handful of Bosman signings one summer. I think I signed 5 players from them without spending a penny and those players must be worth £50m between them now.

the biggest thing I found with management apps/games was the match engine was a bit poo and unrealistic.

I had a game on DS called Football Director and I won the league with West Ham. It actually made me angrier that we were so good.

There is an element of that. I admit it did surprise me in my second season in the Premier League that Xabi Alonso agreed to join Wrexham, albeit that he was getting on a bit by then

I can't get anyone to sign for Pescara!

We have a crap wage budget still, so my first team is mostly bargains and frees.

Klomp---Santacroce---Capuano---Daprela

Most expensive was Kayal for 7m. The rest were all less than a mil.

They could feasibly catch Chelsea in 3rd. 2nd is a stretch but it isn't impossible. Deluded is harsh.

I think Viva is overlooking our obvious managerial skills. I think it is highly likely that if I took on Wrexham IRL, I would get them into the CL inside 8 seasons.

They just won't take the chance on me in real life to prove it

They're 9 points off 2nd, yet I don't get called a deluded fool when I say we're 9 points off 3rd... Very Happy

If Arsenal can keep their form together, they're the second best team in the league on their day. City are falling apart at the seams, Chelsea even more so, and the Spuds are doing their best to throw CL football away. Arsenal could have it if they really, really want it.

I find I mostly fail on FM, it just takes me to get the conditions right to succeed. I got it at West Ham, then Liverpool and now Pescara.

I've played many a game where we got nowhere and I got the boot. I was ignominiously bottom of the Belgian league with Gent at one point.

Soddy, mathematically its possible but everyone knows Arsenal arent good enough to catch 2nd.
Azzy, thats because you said your 9 points off third, not you can finish in third place.

If Arsenal can keep their form together, they're the second best team in the league on their day. City are falling apart at the seams, Chelsea even more so
What form? One win against Aston Villa? 3 wins in 5 games, being knocked out of the FA Cup on home soil & effectively out the CL on home soil again isnt good form. They need to build off the Villa win & just focus on the Prem. With Spurs, Everton & Swansea coming up they will have to really want it & work hard.
They wont take maximum points from them 3 games.

That is a long game!
I have gotten to 2021 on my first save on 2012 when I started at West Ham and went on to Liverpool. We've won a load of stuff but most of the players are no longer real...

I had a short go on an old champ manager, I think it was around 96/97. I was Southampton and we lost almost all our games so I basically had a tantrum and never tried again.

On Champs 99-00 I played 40 years, took Nuneaton Borough from the Conference to something like 15 Champions League titles. I was England manager for about 30years of that, I got Ian Evatt (the Blackpool great) to 180 England caps, with about 30 goals too!

That game was mad. I had Hugo Morales aged 52 in my squad, he'd play 5 mins then come off injured Laugh

I also had a guy named Ian Cole / Marc Cole (something like that) who started out at the club, I got him over 100 England caps plus a £50m move to Inter. The guy was a total legend.

I have never gotten that far Azzy, nowhere close! How long did that take you?

I mostly get bored after about 7/8 seasons and start a new save. I've done a couple of international games where I've done about 16 years but it takes no time at all because you barely play.

Madden, now that I have a problem with.

Thing with Nuneaton was the story:

Season One = won the Conference, James Beattie scores 60 goals
Season Two = won League Two, Beattie scores 50 goals and Zola on loan gets 40
Season Three = won League One, Beattie leaves for £12m and his £1m replacement, Kevin Davies, scores 50
Season Four = won the Championship, Davies scores 50
Season Five = 8th in the Prem

It took me another four years to win the Prem, and I didn't win my first FA Cup until about season 15. Once you've taken a non-league team to dizzy heights, you can't let them go.

Mitchell Cole I think it was, club icon!

And Ian Evatt not only had that many caps for me, but he played over 1,400 career games and scored over 200 career goals. Had 20 on penalty taking Wink

What do you phoneshop lads think of this:

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/phones/samsung/galaxy-s-iii-mini-ceramic-white/?tariffId=b3447b05-1606-44e1-9616-c2704f5be98f&dataAllowanceId=4f633007e4b055ea8545a881

I don't want an iphone, and want the cheapest possible tariff and phone - so this is £26 a month, phone is free, I currently pay £16.50 a month for an iphone that needs charging 4x a day.

Include the VAT and its nearly £32 per month. Same as my tarriff price.

Last time I checked with O2 I was using about 100MB a month...I have a tablet now so I use that instead of my phone. Except while taking a Tom T1t that is.

Viva, I want to stay with O2, keep my number, and have a non-iPhone touchscreen phone. I use about 250mins a month, about 100 texts, and as I say, max of 200MB in data.

Not true GSC, I played one guy last night who'd created the Ghanaian national team. Pace abusing like heck, but I beat him anyway Euro Division Homepage L - Page 7 3559488474

It's teams with Miccoli and Di Natale up front that I can't stand, old blokes with lightning speed is baffling and uber frustrating.
