Boxing Podcast 21st Feb with Tyson Fury
On tonights show, Chris and I are joined by a Fury double team.
I am delighted to say that we were joined by both Peter and Tyson Fury from their training camp/ holiday in Italy.
As always, both Peter and Tyson came over as incredibly charismatic and more importantly fun. In all of the interviews we have done so far, this is without a doubt my favourite for its sheer fun and dare I say controversial comments!
During the discussion, Peter and Tyson show off their boxing heritage, boxing history knowledge, as well as what we all come to expect from Tyson, a few choice comments about the current heavyweight scene.
Hopefully you will enjoy the show and have plenty to discuss amongst yourselves.
Dont forget to leave your comments below or let us know what you think by emailing us at boxing@v2journal.com
So a big thank you to the Furys for their time and if you enjoy the show, make sure to tell others by tweeting the link and posting it on facecbook! The bigger the cast gets, the bigger the guests in the future.
Enjoy!
Apologies for a slight technical issue at around the 29 minute mark where there phone cut out!

I've listened to the first four minutes of this and his comments about Price had me laughing out load.

Just finished listening to this and it's a really good show, they both seem open and honest and some of Furys comments where pure quality. Really hope they come back on soon and I'm not stuck with the flu again.

Re: Boxing Podcast 21st Feb with Tyson Fury
Just listening now, dunno if its just me, but the first 5 minutes get replayed 5 minutes in - like i say, may just be me!
I like his honesty, think he was somewhat callous towards David Price, saying he doesn't have a brain and such, he skims over his own skills to say that he wants "blood and guts" when he's in the ring - at no point except against Pajkic have I seen that. Against Thompson he didn't let anything go with any real menace so he believes he's "an old school fighter" when in reality he's nothing like that.
Think he'd get absolutely ripped a new one by a Kbro at the minute, nothing he has shows that he's capable, he doesn't go guns blazing despite him saying he does, and his defense is his size which he wouldn't have against another "super" heavyweight.
Our best bet is Price, I'm going to be placing a large bet on price should those two meet. I'm surprised he said "all thats on the line right now is pride" and seemed to dismiss that as not worth it.
Good podcast, first one I've listened through to the end.

I love it when you asked about the slave contracts and asked if they had actually seen one and they squirmed out of the question. It is safe to say from their answer that they have never seen a Klitschko contract.

Re: Boxing Podcast 21st Feb with Tyson Fury
thanks for all the comments so far.
The biggest surprise to me was despite the namecalling bits, they came over as quite clued up.
I quite enjoyed the bit where Peter was talking about boxing history (and who would have thunked that I would be namedropping people like Harry Greb and Sam Langford - have I actually learnt something from this place?). I also thought it interesting when they said they wouldnt face a Klitxchko if it wasnt a mandatory.
It was good to see that some thought has gone into Tysons fight plan.
I dont think he seemed particularly afraid of the Ks - if anything, he seemed more afraid of Price, the brainless dog!

It was interesting to hear that he would only fight a Klit if he is a mandatory. Was it purely for financial reasons why he has that view? That would suggest he puts money before titles etc. Also he must realise that if he wants to fight Vitali he will have to do it pretty quickly as Vitali is 41 and looks like he will end his career very soon. if Fury is waiting until he is a mandatory he might be too late and not get the chance to fight Vitali.

Re: Boxing Podcast 21st Feb with Tyson Fury
A funny thing happened after we stopped recording.
I was saying my goodbyes to them when Tyson chirped in with (jokingly)
"So where do we send the invoice for the interview?"
my answer...
"Send it to Frank Maloney"
Thankfully there was an uproar of laughter on their end!

Could I ask a favour of you all?
Could you just add a comment each at the bottom of the article on the journal.
If people from other sources (such as twitter and facebook) see a comment, they might feel inclined to comment as well and stick around the site.
Cheers!

I thought the sound quality seemed really good in this one for me, not sure if anything was different. Did the jingles download for you?

I had the jingles but couldnt figure out how to add them to the sound file! I was so excited about the content that I thought I would just publish as is.
I did try though but couldnt figure out how to add the files together.

I'm not sure either, we managed it in our practice run, but I didn't do it haha. I'll find out.

So, "bigger and better things" meant Maddy and Marty, are we meant to believe Wlad in 2 fights time? Good ambition and they've got their heads screwed on, but seeing is believing.

Mandatory againdt the klits makes perfect sense. We're all aware of the type of contracts they offer voluntaries.
Well done Adam

Loads of work going into something only for it to garner virtually no responses, you know how I feel on about every thread I write.
However I will put some comments up this evening to help things along.

Cue Victor coming in with the ol' "you haven't seen the contracts, please show it all to us if you have" retort!

I whored myself out to get the responses. Still feel dirty about it. However am sure when the Colour Line Greats Series is reopened with Dave Holly normal service will be resumed.

Nah not this time that debate has already happened. All I will say is that Adam asked Fury whether he had actually seen a Klitschko contract because fury has said that the klitschkos offer slave contracts. Fury's response was basically that he had not physically seen a contract and was only saying they were slave contracts based on what he has heard. The whole argument that K2 offer slave contracts is based on certain fighters making those accusations. One of those fighters was Fury who just admitted that he has never actually seen one of K2 contracts and only said they offered slave contracts because of what he has heard from other fighters.

Only If you, Chris or Paul do the interview - I dont want to hear Jeff masturbating furiously in the background

My opening question is going to be asking him if he wants to move in with me.

No point really rowley, even if you stand face to face there will be a massive gap caused by both your bellies. You'll have to tesselate and might end up looking like a giant piece of vienetta Ice cream.

If you get Lennox Lewis I'd love to be involved for that one, aware I'm probably at the back of the queue though!
He's been offering little chats with his Facebook fans, along with David Haye so maybe you could jump on that?
