Re: England vs France: Match Thread
very very polished second half performance from england hey;. very impressed we could turn this round!!. We looked shaky from the first minute- but as every minute went on we looked better stronger and fitter!!
well played lads..
The difference between france and england.
simple answer - england are better.
less basic answer
england win when they play bad..
france cant win when they play bad and by the looks of today cant even win when they play well!! there really showed some skillz at the start- but just not enough against a good team

Well France with a decent first 165 were pretty good, set piece and back play stronger, then the changes came and they feel to peices.
I think it's safe to say France are a very good team with a very poor head coach.
Wooden spoon would be hilarious, congrats England job done.
Robshaw has been very good, Cole immense again and impressed with Youngs when he came on.

What is wrong with the French coaches they just committed themselves to defeat. The ref missed quite a lot to help England but England deserved to win.

mister you amaze me, France are awfull when Italy and Wales beat them, yet when they are the better team first half, then fall apart due to changes England are polished and better

no offence blue, but this was a france team with the players picked in the right position, well for most of the game.

Ye they were and they were more than a match at Twickers until their best 3 players were taken off around 10 mins into the 2nd half, then they threw air balls, gave passes away, and missed tackles.
England got the rub of Jouberts green, and France fell apart.

Is PSA as bad at coaching as Howley? Probably not, but he's still an idiot.
The substitutions ruined the match, and he threw away a game he could have won.

yeah and the french team that played italy and wales was pretty much the french team today in the second half. oh and we probably did get the rub of the green, makes a nice change as it's usually the other way around.

Re: England vs France: Match Thread
Very good performances from some players in particular - Cole made some big tackles, so did Lawes, Manu caused all kinds of problems and took his try well, Wood showed great hands and Robshaw was huge.
For balance, Ashton was frequently moronic and needs to stop the backchat and Brown was staggeringly anonymous.

And not that I'm saying Joubert give England the game, but I struggle to understand his interpretations (just like the players). I do a when I see he's officiating Wales.

picamoles was the best player on the pitch by a mile. Surprised robshaw got it. He had a lot of carries but made v little yardage.
Game was won by Saint-Andres rubbish substitues. Why did he take off the best players?
Good contest from both teams. England to be denied GS by Wales? i think not...

Hmmmm,
not the best decisions by the ref and the French coaches.
Still, France looked awful for most of the second half.
England looked shaky when met with a solid attack and defence in the first half (compared to Ireland lack of any attack, and Scotland's lack of any defence)
See you in Cardiff.

Re: England vs France: Match Thread
mister you little scamp The Chris Ashton of the 606v2 boards!!!
nathan
Don't get me wrong, England looked comfortable, but they were the lesser team first half, France missed 2 kickable kicks, Vunipola was alound Carte Blanche at the breakdown including offside for the try and amazingly avoiding a yellow for slapping the ball out of Parras hands!!
England were the better side but France are certainly having a nightmare, anyone claiming they were any better today than for the last 2 games is not all there.
Tight game where the rub and coaching set up lost it for France, England have been consistantly good, but never looked like scoring a try today, they created nothing of note.

I wonder what will happen in the back row next game, is Morgan meant to be back by then? Lawes wasn't convincing today, for a tackling monster he missed far too many tackles, and the go forward that Morgan can supply has been missed in the forwards

Lucky today but we dominated the last 25 mins or so. Joubert was harsh on France in the rucks, thought he was inconsistent frankly. Glad we won. Robshaw, the "nobody" racks up his 4th win and 2nd MotM in a row. Got to be a nailed on Tourist for Australia now though I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start and leads the midweekers. Bring on Italia

Re: England vs France: Match Thread
Oh don't get me wrong they were far better for 50, but they were probably much worse last 20 too. I did only mean it as an overall performance.
England are the favourites for the slam, but Ireland were awfull in attack, Scotland dire in defence and France totally fell apart last 20.
I'm looking forward to seeing England play someone of any note (not that Italy or Wales could provide anything at present)
