Tomb Raider
Has anyone seen this? Looks wicked, Lara Croft 'Uncharted' style.

Good write-ups from what I've seen so far.

Re: Tomb Raider
I'm kinda dreading this game. I'm a huge fan of the original series of games done by Core Design before Crystal Dynamics have taken over. Two things worry me going forward, the first being Crystal Dynamics made their first reboot of the series so bad in regards to idiotic hand holding. The second being the "Uncharted" influence which in itself is a switch your brain of type of game with its all action approach to adventure gaming.
Couple these two things together and I get the impression I might be playing another dumbed down Lara game come the 5th March.
P.S. Good write ups from reviewers don't ease that dread, since I wouldn't trust 99% of them to know what a good review is or not be influenced by fear.

I'm looking forward to it. Never bothered with the last one but do like the look of this one. Shame it's not a true open world game though, more a linear game with area's to explore from what I've read. A proper open world Tomb Raider would be an amazing concept in my opinion.

I must be about 40 per cent through it and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Really well presented , great sound, nice weather effects.
Moments of extreme peril.
No large blocks to slide about though

Re: Tomb Raider
If it makes you feel any better there are some pretty nasty death scenes, not quite as bone crunching as previous but hey.
There was one QTE where I must have died about 6 times I'm blaming it on a new controller and in no way on the fact I am inept

Absolutely brilliant game, finished it yesterday. Would recommend it, I'm a fan of these sorts of things, Batman Arkham series as well and this game has a great storyline. Just need to go back through to get 100% in all areas.

Re: Tomb Raider
Finally got around to picking it up this weekend (needed something to cheer myself up after the rugby on Saturday ) and played it for the first time last night. Only played for about 40 minutes as it was already late but first impressions were very promising - handling was good and the graphics excellent in my opinion. Some geezer grabbed my ankles at one point and I wasn't fast enough to break free resulting in a boulder dropping on my head which was pretty graphic! Turned it off as I could feel myself getting dragged into the storyline! Very impressed so far.

Re: Tomb Raider
Just completed it today and I thought it was terrific. I completed it with 99%, although every area was 100%, took a bit of backtracking.
I have no idea what to do for my remaining 1%.
I liked the story, perhaps a bit similar in a way to Far Cry 3 but boy did I care about Lara, some of her crew mates not so much.
Really good fun and my next stop is Bioshock Infinite
