That's considerate. A man down possibly seriously injured and the ref carries on....anyway Scottish penalty.
Tips on though isn't a bad replacement.
15-16 at 49 minutes.
I think this game will end very closely and probably through a kick.

How to beat Wales
Just get the ball into their 10m or beyond, a penalty is inevitable

No I certainly don't, your the wum merchant Cyril, well thats not fairt you tend to get dragged into wumming like me!!
But because I criticise anything English every now and then doesn't make me a wum, or wrong!!!
When I criticise Wales or anyone else I am right, but for England I'ma wum... poor mate poor.
Yappy
I apologies, that free flowing backline and champagne rugby England played then mustve eluded me!! But then a dominant pack and Wilkinsons cultured boot did put them in some seriously good positions!

Tips on, Warbs to 6
Might be the lineup next week if Ryan doesn't recover
Laidlaw is an excellent kicker

He did the same when Gray was down, well he eventually stopped when the ball went dead.

But they restarted - I thought there might have been a short delay. Anyway, it's done now.

To where? If you mean the Lions Tour, he's got hefty competition from Sexton and Farrell for a start.

He's playing 9 Cari not 10!
His box kicking, out of hand, ability to drop to the 10 chanell and goal kicking is immense. His distribution and speed is good too

Hibbard's having a great game, but another ref would be pinging all his throws as not straight.

Interesting Joubert saying that Ford would take a YC at the scrum for repeated infringment rather than one of the props

i still think Care and Youngs are ahead of him. Laidlaws biggest asset is his goal kicking which i think the 10 would be doing anyway

Another penalty...
15-19 at 56 minutes. I wonder if we'll see another try this half?

Re: Scotland vs Wales: Match Thread
I was really excited that today's game would be a cracker, of course both Wales and Scotland have come out to play like village idiots combined with Joubert's over obsessive scrutiny of the scrum. Its is about time the rules on scrummaging were relaxed or the game will suffer permanently

You can add Phillips to that list as well. Gatland loves him.

yeah true, although i hope not. I want a scrum half who is a scrum half first and foremost.

Re: Scotland vs Wales: Match Thread
It may not have been champagne rugby in 2003 (unlike 2001) but to describe it as hoof and hope as you did was exceedingly inaccurate. They managed 18 tries that season (15 by the backs). Only France have managed that many in the 10 years since.thebluesmancometh wrote:I apologies, that free flowing backline and champagne rugby England played then mustve eluded me!! Hmmm, that was a tough call on Tips. Still, it gives Laidlaw a chance to kick another three.
