Are you sure we couldn't do that deal if you added some cash or another trade to balance it out? Hummels is a monster player to lose, you can compare Pastore to Hummels in terms of TM value but he's nowhere near in terms of team importance.

Funnily enough I was going to ask you about Barzagli to pair him with Chiellini and Bonucci Laugh

I told Afro I want a minimum of £20m for Bonucci (I have a Lawyer Offer of £19.5m), and for Chiellini I wanted Branislav Ivanovic + £10m.

In either deal I'd want Xavi and Holtby from you, so:

Bonucci = Xavi
Chiellini = Xavi + Holtby

Or Bonucci + Chiellini = Xavi + Holtby + Astori + £7.5m

Sorry mate, not that interested in that pairing. Regardless of TM values, I lose by far the best player in the deal. If you want either player, Xavi has to come the other way (tough line but it's absolutely crucial).

Hey that's cool mate, I'd rather have one top-class player than two good players so staying put is good for me. I know how tough it is to part with quality players, even if getting them in return. That Reus deal killed me!

I understand you not wanting to part with Xavi, but I'd not even give you Eriksen + £5m for Xavi. From what I've seen in other inter-league deals, players of high value are being traded quite freely these days - hence my requirement for Xavi in p/ex for any of my high-end players.

Well we've discussed the CBs before - Bonucci is £22m cash, Chiellini £30m. And Mathieu is a big downgrade on Cole imo, not well-known and definitely not as good.

Well it's like this really - do the £10m + Tasci + Buttner now, or risk me not wanting to sell Bonucci at the end of the season because he and Chiellini are such a brilliant pairing. I'm only looking to sell now to raise funds for Monday, but I have other options for doing so.

It's to do with who I'm buying from TPs next week, and how they'd fit into my team. I can't play a 3 or a 5 at the back with who I want, I need to play 4 at the back and so Barzagli would sit on the bench for me.
