Wales to beat England?
Wales to crucify England.
The win over NZ was excellent, but it has brought a false hope of a new golden generation.
Good vs Scotland.
Scraped past the worst French side ever.
Scraped past the worst irish side in the history of the six nations.
Couldn't even score a try against Italy at home, but did concede one.
Wales will win well. They have a better pack and monster backs and at home will make the most of that advantage.
Cuthbert and North must target Ashton IF he's selected.
However I don't expect Wales to make up the points deficit. England will win the tournament and Wales' first half v Ireland and Dan Biggar's charged down kick will come back to haunt them.
If Wales have any hope of putting a giant score on England then todays performance v Italy will be the motivation.

So delusional.
Of course we'll win the tournament. It's only 7 or 8 points! Our last three games have been won by 10 points or more. The facts are irrefutable. No doubt this factual thread will shortly be complained about... Oh wait, it's just another one of my ID's!

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about the 'giant score' preds of old. Same cycle, England have one distinctly unimpressive game and many take it as a cue to herald one of these fabled cricket scores. I say 'fabled' as I recall two instances identical to this: 2009 and last year. On both occasions Wales were backed to stuff England and on both occasions they were given a serious test. That's what I expect this time, a gritty, unattractive yet given the high stakes, somewhat compelling slog between the forwards. It won't be a walkover for either side.

Wales to crucify England.
If you are basing you assumption on todays game. Then you maybe a little deluded.
I will admit, the England did not play that well today. But in all honesty Wales have not played that great either. Yes they ( Wales) have gone on to gain more Convidence as the 6ns as gone on. But they are still finding their feet.
Will England play the same way next week? NO, They will not. It is hard game to call. England by 15. Fingers crossed.

Wales winning 9-8 in a rubbish match and then George North runs through Tuilagi in the 80th minute before offloading to Cuthbert for a 60m dart under the posts.
That is a Carlsberg moment.

Whereas Wales:
Caned by Ireland (the worst Ireland side ever in 13 years apparently)
Scraped past the worst French side ever.
Decent against Italy.
Laboured past a poor Scottish team.
Oh and haven't beat NZ since 1950 something?

We scraped past a better French side than you did!
Seriously, both teams have their faults at the moment. I see no argument for a clear winner on either side.

Come on roge. Wales haven't exactly lit the tourney up either.
Blown away for 60 mins v Ireland.
Laboured against a pish poor france
Got the bounce of the ball v Italy
Bullied an indisciplined scot side
It's gonna be a tense game which any team can win.

I believe that the pressure of playing in front of their own crowd will see Wales reduced back to the biscuit base we have seen over the last few months. If after the first quarter things aren't gong their way and England are smashing them back in the tackle all the mental weaknesses will start to surface and the in will start.Hawley will panic as usual with his stupid replacements and England will win at least 2 scores.

Re: Wales to crucify England.
It is a fitting climax a 6Ns going to the wire, except for the first week the matches have been pretty poor.Just a long drawn out case of defence, little risk taking and goalkicking.
This one will be no different a close risk less game probably decided by whoever the Referee is.
Weather won`t be a problem presumeably as the roof will be closed .
If it needs a Wales by 7 is required.,then in the event of say Wales win and the points difference is equal.
Does it then revert something like most tries scored? ,

Re: Wales to crucify England.
With every game, the performances of England in the six nations gives more and more credence to the claim that the victory over new zealand had more to do with the flu bug within the all blacks camp rather than any england revival.
England appear to have peaked in the first game versus Scotland. Their performance versus Ireland was gutsy if nothing else but against Italy and France they have been second best.
It says everything about the quality of the teams in the six nations this season that Wales, who have been well below their best will probably still retain the championship, playing a limited game based on defense and a strong kicking game.

If you look at any number of sports, the recurring theme through the passage of time is that good sides can grind out a victory when not at their best.Team unity and solidarity.

And yet you seem reluctant to give Wales credit for doing that the last three games.

2012 - Wales win by 7 points in Twickenham
2013 - Wales must win by 7/8 in Cardiff
Currently Wales have 7 tries, England have 5.
4 of England's tries were against Scotland
England have declined during the past 5 weeks
Wales have improved.
...and now they meet.

SA did the same in the autumn.played below par but won all their games.

That's all that matters, Wendy - do whatever it takes to win, and England have managed to do that thus far.

Worrying but I agree. The last time I was this sure England were going to get thrashed was in the autumn just before the New Zealand game.

Wales haven't conceded since the 43rd min of the first match.
They've had a defensively excellent tournament since then.

To be fair they should have conceded one against Italy but got away with an early tackle ... I think it was Biggar? Even Jiffy commented on it.

Another day Ian Evans would have got a yellow card for interfering with Scotland from the floor and an offside position when they were trying to force the ball over the Welsh line. But he probably figured that with Joubert in control he could get away with it.

Re: Wales to crucify England.
Wales defence is excellent. In the main, when we have a balanced side so is England's.
England's weakness is definitely out wide with Brown & Ashton, albeit for different reasons.
I suspect Wales are the same, but haven't yet played anyone with a wide game, except in the first half vs Ireland where they were scoring at will.
Which kind of makes the question - which team will be better at drawing the defence and then quickly spreading the ball.
On evidence so far, I'd say England - but then I would, wouldn't I

Re: Wales to crucify England.
Wales could win by a big score or lose by a lot. England could scrape a win or lose by a small margin. It could also be a draw... or either side could win or lose by a mediumish amount of points.
It all depends on the score really.

All that really matters is that if England do win the slam we all get to say it's the worst grand slam winning side in history and the only reason it's the worst is because everyone else was rubbish too.
After all the English always say that to Wales and Ireland.

Re: Wales to crucify England.
I actually dont mind who wins but I must say I fancy Wales at this point to win but not by 7. Wales have better players but England play very well as a team and have a very effective gameplan.
I really cant see England breaking down the Wales defense but I fancy North to grab a crucial try. I dont think it will be a low scoring match but I cant see there being more than two or three tries.
England 18-24 Wales.
