Leinster (injuries/availability)
Happy St. Patrick's day everyone
So trying to escape the 6Nations feeling and wanted to get this started.
I don't know how Glasgow are fixed but we could be in better shape. These next few games are huge for us as we are playing the only 2 teams ahead of us. Vital we get two home wins if we want silverware.
However we will be missing a lot of players as the game is less than a week away.
Healy - probably won't play
VDM - no idea if he is fit
Strauss - still injured?
Browne - injured
SOB - won't play
Heaslip - won't play
McLaughlin - is he back?
Reddan - injured
Sexton - injured
Darcy -injured
BOD - most likely suspended wouldn't play this anyway but may be ruled out of Ulster clash
Fitz - is he going to make it?
Nacewa - what's his story?
Kearney - won't play
McFadden - injured
Not looking wonderful really

Re: Leinster (injuries/availability)
Glasgow will likely be missing Weir, Grant, Maitland, Lamont and Hogg.
Kellock, Wilson, Jackson, Pyrgos, Low and Hall will be available.
So likely team is
Low - McArthur - Cusack*
Kellock - Swinson
Harley - Wilson - Barclay
Matawalu - Jackson
Dunbar - Bennett
DTH - Murchie - Seymour
Hall, Reid, Welsh, Ryder, Strauss, Pyrgos, Horne, McGuigan
*Cusack may be back and start on the bench with Welsh at TH.

Re: Leinster (injuries/availability)
Depends on fitness/form. The guys coming back have all done relatively well but guys like Low/Cusack/Seymour/Hall are lacking fitness... Although if Niko has a good game I can see a tough day for Leinster... He's just electric and creates things from nothing!
The Glasgow pack is huge and in the backs, even though they'll be missing Hogg and Maitland there's still good players like Jackson, DTH and Bennett.
Tight game but Glasgow may just have enough to see them through!

I'm sure you would put Isa and Kev in there if they were fit. Think Kev may be. Isa..... Who knows. We may hear something tomorrow.
If not I would go with Ruddock Jennings Murphy/Marshall 678. Ryan on the bench. Backline picks itself. So few available. Might put Conway at FB, and Bent ahead of Hagan. Otherwise I would go with your team

And so the worrying begins! This is going to be such a crucial game. Ulster will be watching this closely too.
Any weaknesses to the current Glasgow side you reckon?

Re: Leinster (injuries/availability)
Probably goalkicking if Weir is missing, although Jackson has a good percentage in the league at the minute...
They've built on the rock solid defence of last year with a real attacking threat in the backs, especially with Hogg, Maitland, Dunbar, Matawalu... Not much in it as far as I see. As an Ulsterman and a Glasgow fan, I'm watching it closely!

Absolutely gutted for Fitz, the lad just can not catch a break.
Great to have some of the other lads back though. Again running out of back3 players we only have Kearney due back which is not ideal

We'll manage without more injuries, but it's not ideal without Luke and Ferg.pete (buachaill on eirne) wrote:Absolutely gutted for Fitz, the lad just can not catch a break.

Isa and the bros Kearney with Carr/Conway for backup should be available for Ulster. Ferg will be back in April for either Wasps or Munster.
We are really short of outside backs I think. We can get away with it due to the versatility of players like Isa Ferg and Luke, but we are still short numbers as can be seen from earlier in the season. We are losing a minimum of Carr and Conway for next season. And there are several more who are not yet signed up for next year. Luke being the obvious one.

Re: Leinster (injuries/availability)
Luke's injury might force his hand to accept the contract offer from Leinster. Which is a small positive.
Pete, I'd go with your team but with Ruddock - Murphy - Ryan in the backrow.

Can't wait for the Glasgow game. It will be my first time in the RDS since the pro12 semi final.

Yeah, I'm very much looking forward to this game. The perfect antidote to the 6nations blues.

Re: Leinster (injuries/availability)
Yeah our back 5 are really bare at the moment. We are one injury away from not having much cover at all at all.
Think we may need to go and get ourselves an outside back (or two if Isa/Luke goes) from somewhere.
Niall Morris is doing well at Leicester.....?

Just signed a 2 year extension to his deal there. Dickie Knobrill said Leinster were sniffing around him to get him back.

Flip he'd be a great addition.

The AAC and Drew Mitchell rumours seem to have run out of steam. I believe Mitchell broke his hand last week...
