BBC coverage
I really wish they'd help out when it comes to substitutions.
I'd completely lost track of who was on the field by the last 20 minutes.
Sadly, so had England.

Re: BBC coverage
I was thinking the same thing, who exactly was playing 15 for Cuthberts try???
Brown was totally isolated, Care came across to cover but where was a 15?
I think the crew were all a touch caught up though, I know one of the guys who used to do camera work for the BBC on sport day and he said there were tons of errors.

Re: BBC coverage
One thing that really got on my t!ts was Inverdales inept ranting about England not quite getting a Slam ALL OVER the presentation, when the stadium announcer was calling up the players.
Why oh why, couldnt they show a little courtesy and just shut up and let the fans enjoy the moment...
Not sure if someone gave Inverdale a dig during this, but at one point he does say, "oh ... we can discuss Englands lost Slam later..." but he didnt shut his mouth for long

Re: BBC coverage
I'll go against the grain here. I thought the BBC coverage of this 6 Nations was as good as it's been for a while.
Brian Moore and Eddie Butler were superb, as was Andrew Cotter. Jeremy Guscott is still a weak link in terms of knowledge of the game, but Sir Clive Woodward definitely added some perceptive comments to the mix. All in all I thought it was a very creditable performance from the Beeb, and Gabby Logan, even in the silly hats, is lovely....

Yes - I particularly liked his comments at half time about England having the stronger bench and the fact that they will take control of the game in the last 20 minutes - Very perceptive -

Re: BBC coverage
John Inverdale is just woeful full stop. How he got the Olympics i have no idea. I thought at one stage Michael Johnson was gonna punch him...
Please BBC get rid of him.

That's a great idea, and then when the 80 mins are up, instead of looking at the score board, we can have a telephone vote to see who's won

Re: BBC coverage
I didn't watch much BBC at the Weekend (I mean for the coverage) mostly because I find the commentary and pundit time a little too grey................ but am I right in saying that Inverdale and virtually all his gang were dressed in matching grey at the weekend??

Re: BBC coverage
I'm surprised we don't each get a national choice with respective pundits - It's just such an anglo overload and the bias is just too strong. Butler, Moore, Mathews and Patterson alongside a couple of SH lads would be perfect - Logan and Sonia can go back to come dancing or whatever

Re: BBC coverage
A couple of loud mouthed SH lads???.....yeah...now that's be a mouth watering proposal enough. Something to get your teeth into - as long as they'd be allowed say what they want to say rather than what a corporation with litigation concerns want them to say.

You can't say that, it is sexist, probably 90% will agree with you. Logan's hubby at least played international rugby, not very well but he tried.

Re: BBC coverage
I too am a fan of the Beebs coverage although they could reduce the number of certain unnecessary slow-mo cuts.
And I also generally like the blend of pundits and commentators especially with the addition of Bortolami and Castaignede this year.
Perhaps I'm just easily pleased.....

Re: BBC coverage
I don't want to watch the crowd in slow motion during the game. That adds nothing. Why do it.
Also, could the commentators please learn what the refs signals mean. Half the time they gave incorrect reasons for the penalties. Neither of these things are Beeb exclusive though.
Apart from that (and Jonathan Davies who just winds me up, oh, and Inverdale of course) I thought it was actually quite good coverage.

Re: BBC coverage
It's not bad coverage. To be honest I wasn't looking forward to SCW appearing on the punditry but I was genuinely pleased with his comments and attitude. His prediction of an england win was amusing the second time round but all in all I thought he added something. Hey at least we don't have to pay £20-25 a month to watch it.

Re: BBC coverage
To be fair, its only Inverdale that annoys me, and not so much him, but the inempt way he seems to think we must all talk about England or Jonny Wilkinson now... Others on the Beeb are far more balanced. If the alternative is ITV or SKY give me auntie any day... I'll even put up with Inverdale (if I have to...).

Yes we do, it's £5.60 a week!
