The 2nd Time Of Asking
Are there any films that you have liked better, second time around?
I was a bit disappointed with Bridesmaids when I first watched it, but preferred it when I watched it the other night.
Maybe it was hyped up to much? Don't know.

The Usual Suspects - despite the fact that 2nd time I knew what the twist was the direction was too confused to comprehend first time around.
Blair Witch Project - expected too much first viewing - didn't help that the retarded tabloids had bleated on about how terrifying it was but given away the entire plot, 2nd time round appreciated for what it was, a very good film on no budget

Prometheus. I am a massive fan of the original Alien trilogy, but I came away from my first viewing of Prometheus really disappointed.
I watched it again t'other night and enjoyed it immensely. It really fell into place for me second time round and I finally 'got' it. There are some silly moments and the ending is a bit ham-fisted but overall I thought it was excellent second time around.
I think the first time around I was expecting too much with all the hype over the return of Ridley Scott. Second time round I tried to judge it on its merits and I'm glad I gave it another chance.

Probably 'No Country for Old Men', for me. First time I watched it I never really 'connected' with Bardem's character, found it a little too slow-paced and didn't like the ending, either. Having seen it since, I found myself appreciating its subtleties a lot more as well as thinking that Bardem had done a good job of portraying one seriously bad dude.

The Usual Suspects.
Very good first time around but even better when you know the ending.

The Matrix
Jarred me the first time I watched it but the 2nd time it all made sense.

Police Academy - Mission to Moscow, some of the subtlety of the jokes completely passed me by first time round. Also not sure I fully grasped the subtext about glastnost and the fall of the communist regime that underpinned the work at the first viewing.

Gangs Of New York
Found it boring the 1st time I watched, 2nd time though turned into one of my Favourite films due to Daniel Day-Lewis great performance which I didn't really notice too much previously.

Watched 'Four Weddings And A Funeral' at the weekend. Hadn't seen it since about 1995, but did enjoy better 2nd time around.
Was still pleased when Simon Callow's annoying character got killed off

I like Simon Pegg and Nick Frost duo in films and was looking forward to Hot Fuzz when it was first annouced. I went the pictures and didnt think much of it. I watched it again months later and thought it was quality. One of my favourite comedy films.

Godzilla. Expected a lot at the cinema after all the teaser trailers and promotion they did that year for it. When I saw it again I enjoyed it so much more. I saw it for the fun, OTT film that it is. Some of the 'in jokes' and nods to other films completely passed me by the first time, like how the Mayor (Ebert) and his assistant (Gene) are named after the film critics Roger Ebert and Gene Sisskel.
If I want to watch an easy to watch, laugh at how rubbish it is, don't have to concentrate type of film then I put on Godzilla.

As above...Usual Suspects - Mate of mine loved it and I preferred Things to Do In Denver When You're Dead so we used to have "arguments" about which was better. Still don't agree with him but I've found myself liking The Ususal Suspects more and more with each viewing.

Both great movies DAVE but The Usual suspects is a better thriller with the mind bending twist at the end.

The Inbetweeners Movie
The first time i thought it was too long and got a bit hard to watch.
Watched it again at the weekend and found it funnier.
