Glad you added that last part, Cherries was getting excited for a second
Was just reading about Kevin Davies leaving Bolton, and the BBC story has a link to this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/7076603.stm
I do not remember that, what an astonishing result that was! And Kroos playing for Bayern back then...an early starter!

Bought myself the 82 IF Jakub Blaszczkowski - boy is he fast! Better than Farfan. So I now have:
Neuer
Hummels-Ramos-Pique
IF Blasz - Schwein - Xavi - Iniesta
IF Holtby
Gomez - IF Mandzukic
Am upgrading from Gomez to Higuain next.
mine at the mo is

Pepe(Juv)---Khedira-Martinez---Blazs(Kuba)
Scmalzer-Subotic--Rodriguez--Fanni

I don't actually know how Maiga got away from the tackles, he isn't that fast, 81 or so.
Matt Jarvis is a baffling 91 on pace. I think they're giving too much credit there.

Jarvo is in so many sweaty players teams due to his pace, N'Zoggers & Junior Toilet too.
I played someone with those three in midfield, LM, RM & AM with Remy & Walcott upfront in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, he battered me. I just couldnt defend against his sweaty pace abuse. I think he had pace cards on some players too, Scotty Parker who has 70 pace managed to catch up with Adel T whos got 81 pace.

Jarvis is weird, agreed, especially when Pique is so much slower. Pique would literally eat him.

Not Phil's Dad then?
Bull, you must be starting out on FUT, you have some players I did when I first started (Khedira/Martinez/Subotic). I tend to start at the back and work my way forwards - get yourself a top keeper, then top FBs, then top CBs, then the rest - but really it's the midfield where the game is won and lost, so get yourself two top CMs (mine are Xavi and Schweinsteiger, with Holtby dropping back from AM to help). Boss the middle, and the game is yours.

Don't get me wrong, I had him for about 100 games. He's decent. Hummels is my best CB, he's more solid than Ramos or Pique.

Hirst was alright if I remember well. He had a bullet of a shot and he could have been half decent if he hadn't got injuries.
Le Tissier is one of my favourite players ever.

I just signed the best player that Vitesse have to offer in Marco Van Ginkel (aka the man keeping Sneijder/VDV out of the Dutch squad)

Is it me or do players get better a lot quicker than usual on Fifa 13?
When I started career, Noble was a 76 but I sold him in Jan of season 2 for £10m and he was 80ovr.
The best full back on the game is totally Gokhan Gonul. The guy is stupidly fast for a defender. Only cost me 1.5m

You are not allowed to sign van Ginkel as it would help dispel the gospel that Bony is Vitesse.
Decent enough signing though. Same boat as Bony really

Well he's made the Dutch squad, so hopefully he can impress there! Seems to be a midfield in the Lampard mould (likes to break from deep, scores a fair bit) but can also spray a pass. Sort of young dynamism I need, deffo step up on Hughes!

He's in the game for sure, I signed him for West Ham from some Russian mob if I remember correctly.
Damn fast and good on the ball. Makes it much easier to defend wingers when the FBs are fast. The CBs don't matter so much.

Throw out some ratings
Hart: 7, Dealt with everything he could be expected to.
Cole: 7, solid performance
Lescott: 8, rock of Englands defense
Smalling: 7, felt he coped well despite little shielding from midfield
Johnson: 6, caught out a few times in the 2nd half
Carrick: 10, his supporters say when he plays well you don't notice him. His finest performance yet in that regard.
Gerrard: 5, misplaced passes and struggled to impact the game
Cleverey: n/a, I'd rate him, but for the life of me I can't remember him doing anything.
Milner: 6, put a shift in, but lacking offensively
Welbeck: 5, again put a shift in but lacked offensively.
Rooney: 7, ran the show in the first half. Deprived of service in the 2nd.
Hodgson: 4, got it spot on in the first half, but it didn't take me, or anyone else, half an hour to see England needed a change.

I thought Lescott was around the same as Smalling, Carrick was brilliant 1st half, but went missing a bit in the 2nd (I know it's not his game to get stuck in, but they were just coming through the middle in streams). God we need Wilshere instead of Cleverley, and I though Milner put in some pretty dangerous crosses. Welbeck is beyond useless

Yeah, Cleverley really isn't close to Wilshere in the middle of the park.
Needed some pace down the flanks. Shame Walcotts hurt.

Really? Vucinic looked off colour to me and kept making the wrong pass. Jovetic played in the hole and I would have said everything went through him

Vucinic was the link man, his touches often allowed Jovetic to get running at England defenders. Should've shifted it on one when they had a man over but he had a reasonable sight of goal.

Re: Euro Division Homepage LIV
I'd have to agree with GSC, despite Vucinic lacking the final ball, I thought he was the most dangerous player for them 2nd half.
Also Cole put in a good performance, but I'd like to see Baines play LB, just because I think his defensive work is there with Ashley's, and Cole isn't really effective going forward now

I'll have to watch it back. I just remember every time they surged forward it was Jovetic in the middle of it. Vucinic kept getting in good positions and making the wrong choice

Considering we had a makeshift CB pairing, and we carried Cleverley/Welbeck most of the game, a draw isn't too bad a result in my eyes.
Still in our hands, 3 home games you'd fancy us to win, away one to Ukraine will be tough, but I'd fancy us to get at least a draw there
