There's reports circulating of Lamont Peterson testing positive for synthetic testosterone again. I'm on my phone at the moment so can't source. But Gabe Montoya has just mentioned this?

I think we need to wait for clarification before we jump the gun but given his past its believable

Sucks really as Peterson-Matthysse was a pick'em and easily the most competitive fight as either if those 2 would beat Garcia with ease in the final of the lightwelter tourney

Amory in Washington, D.C, last month.The hormone hCG is produced by the fertilized egg after conception, according to Wikipedia.org, which also also states that in "the world of performance-enhancing drugs, hCG is increasingly used in combination with various anabolic androgenic steroid(AAS) cycles. As a result, hCG is included in some sports' illegal drug lists".In May of 2009, Los Angeles' Dodgers Manny Ramirezwas issued a 50-game suspension from Major League Baseball for using HCG. Ramirez claimed that he was using hCG, which can be used as a method for weight loss, based on a doctor's reccommendation.The allegation that Peterson tested positive for HCG is in contrast to the information that was initially released to to IBF President Daryl Peoples on Wednesday by Sheldon J. Brown, the D.C. Boxing and Wrestling Commission's administrator.Followng Peterson's victory over Holt on Feb. 22, Brown had informed both camps that Peterson's results had returned negative, according to a written notification from Brown that was issued to both fighters' camps.The urine tests were administered by a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) affiliate based in Salt Lake City, Utah.Brown's notification alone, however, referring to the negative testing had not been assurance enough, at least, for Peoples and Holt's attorney, Pat English, who had demanded to see the official documents that were received by Peoples on Wednesday, according to IBF public relations director Jeanette Salazar.English and Peoples had insisted on clarity given Peterson's failed drug test last March that was contractually administered at Peterson's request by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).Peterson came up dirty for synthetic testosterone,which forced the cancelation of a rematch wiith Amir Khan, from whom he won his current belt in December of 2011 -- one month after having received the testosterone injections.Although the WBA stripped Peterson in the wake of his infraction, the IBF stuck by him after a review of his medical records by IBF-appointed doctors ruled that the testosterone levels discovered in Peterson were not at a level that would enhance his performance.Having signed with Golden Boy Promotions in January, Peterson is scheduled to make a defense of his belt against RING No. 1-rated 140-pounder Lucas Matthysse on May 18 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Showtime.Neither Peoples, Brown, nor members of the fighters' camps could be reached for an immediate comment, but Peterson may likely be stripped of his belt.In an e-mail to RingTV.com on Thursday, Brown acknowledged having sent the test results and requested that further questions be sent to him.In a May 10 IBF eliminator for the right to face Peterson, Candada's Dierry Jean (24-0, 16 KOs), a 30-year-old who is in search of his third straight knockout victory, will take on CIeotis Pendarvis (17-3-2, 6 KOs), a 26-year-old from who lives in Los Angeles. Pendarvis will be in pursuit of his seventh consecutive victory against Jean.Until sending the documents, Brown had asserted that the results of the tests were negative, while also stating that it was D.C. Commission policy that the official documentation remain private."Medical records are confidential; not routinely released unless another Commission has business concerning the medical records," read Brown's letter, in part."Medicals in the Commission's view are confidential and extreme measures are taken to protect medical records. IBF junior welterweight titlist Lamont Peterson has failed another post-fight drug test, this time testing positive for HCG after his February 22 win over Kendall Holt. Peterson, 29, was fighting for the first time since 2011, when he beat Amir Khan and tested positive for synthetic testosterone.

Peterson (31-1-1, 16 KO) overwhelmed Holt in their bout, which aired on ESPN Friday Night Fights, stopping the New Jersey fighter in the eighth round. It was a terrific comeback performance, but there were some growing concerns recently when there was some debate about the drug test results actually being released. Now, it appears, we know why.

HCG is known primarily as a fertility drug for women, but was also used by baseball's Manny Ramirez, who was suspended for testing positive for the drug in 2009. DC commission head Sheldon J. Brown had previously told the IBF and Holt's team that Peterson's tests had come back negative, which clearly is not the case, and it's a credit to the IBF in particular that they demanded to actually see the results, given that they had cut Peterson some slack the first time around and allowed him to retain their title belt.

Peterson had a May 18 fight with Lucas Matthysse lined up, which was to be a Showtime main event. That fight is now in serious doubt, of course.

Yeah, you could amost believe getting repeatedly punched in the head was bad for your health.

Priceless, the IBF will probably turn a blind eye once again.

The Ring took the story down last night, Gabe Montoya confirmed that it was in fact Kendall Holt that failed a test.

There's a million things I can say on the stupidity of a man who tests positive for PEDs when he goes in to a fight against a guy previously found with PEDs in his system but its best to wait for the story to unfold and see what the circumstances are.

They obviously doesn't help you out that much, holt took a hammering in that fight an was gassed after 4 rounds

At least Matthysse-Peterson goes through which is good as its the most competitive fight of the tournent and whoever wins that you'd imagine will go on to beat Garcia in the final of the tourney

I said it was the tip of the iceberg........

Think about all those heavyweight champions that went to the fridge and then got in shape much more easier than usual..

In fact, Peterson tested negative for all banned substances on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Full Menu as well as human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and luteinizing hormone (LH). 
 
"We are very pleased that there has been clarification that Lamont Peterson did not test positive for any banned substances as reported inaccurately earlier today," said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. "Today's incident exemplifies the importance of accurate fact checking prior to reporting news. Golden Boy Promotions looks forward to Lamont Peterson's next fight and furthering his career."

Was talking to Montoya on twitter earlier as well who said the Peterson story started as fact and was very quickly turned to rumour.

It all sounds a bit suspicious....
