Sky and Moto GP
First topic message reminder :
Up to now Sky have no plans to show Moto GP. What a rip-off, in a reply to my letter of complaint they said they were still negotiating with Moto GP, for God's sake they have had all year to sort it out and this looks like being an interesting season for fans and we can't watch it or is it just us in New Zealand?

Re: Sky and Moto GP
Would liked to have seen Marquez get past his teamate earlier to have a run at Lorenzo before he got too far down the road. Take it there's no in-helmet radio in MotoGP otherwise Pedrosa - struggling badly for grip may have got a Ferrari style "Marquez is faster than you" call from his employers looking for maximum manufacturing points. Of course this is ignoring the fact that Marquez would later crash out.
Perfection from Lorenzo and another impressive podium for Cal. Gutted for Vale who had a bad bad start but no doubt would've carved thru the field with superior race pace adding an extra dimension to the race.

Sky and MotoGP?
Dont get me wrong I watched the qualies and it was fantastic to see the lap times getting beaten right up to the last rider.
But as far as Sky is concerned, I dont think they see it as a major investment and will not push the boat out to secure this sport coverage in any hurry.
Its a shame as I know many people who follow it.

Dani Pedrosa has been Mr Consistent this season, continuing from the end of the 2012 season.
In years gone by, after Pedrosa started struggling in Mugello, you'd expect him to crash.
These days he battles on.
Signs are good are Dani's title hopes.
Valentino on the other hand...
If Marquez stops crashing, he could win the title as a rookie.

Cal Crutchlow continues his great start to the season. He will start tomorrow's Catalunya Grand Prix from second on the grid denied pole by Dani Pedrosa who set a lap record. World Champion Jorge Lorenzo had to settle for third on the grid.

Good to hear Cal Crutchlow is now in talks with Yamaha to extend his contract or even if Suzuki make a comeback to the sport he may join them.

Ah Cal Crutchlow crashes out when fourth. Plenty of crashes so far and Rossi in fourth could be on for a decent haul of points. My money is on Lorenzo for the win. He rides a smart race in the lead usually.

I see that Suzuki are returning to MotoGP in 2015. Good news.

Looking forward to seeing Pol Espagaro on the Tech 3 Yamaha next year.
Espagaro vs Marquez again will be a great viewing and there's no love loss between the pair.

Has a contract been signed then?

Dorna has said that they are looking to increase the number of factory bikesCaledonianCraig wrote:Gerry SA wrote:Looking forward to seeing Pol Espagaro on the Tech 3 Yamaha next year.

An additional 4 factory bikes are going to join. 2 Suzuki bikes in 2015.
So Honda + Yamaha or Ducati may get 1 more bike. Starting 2014
So maybe Yamaha would have Crutchlow on a factory bike same as Lorenzo and Rossi

That's an impressive win from Rossi. He's not back, "one swallow doesn't make a summer", but the signs are good. An impressive 3rd from Cal.

Laguna Seca is a nice circuit to ride or drive, but for actually racing on, it's a bit rubbish.

Re: Sky and Moto GP
Crutchlow's weakest performance in ages - not even able to hang with Pedroza and Lorenzo despite their injuries. I guess he just never got the setup correct, and the crash in the final free practice seemed to set him back.
