Why did Lancaster pick Ashton instead of Wade?

Reminds me of the copious selections of a shoite Rhys Priestland.
Wade is gonna be this years John Bentley.

As I'm not a Wasps fan I haven't seen much of Wade this season, other than his astonishing finish in the corner against Irish, so I can't really comment on whether he's weak in defence.

However, if he is, the calculation has to be whether the extra points he'd bring in if selected, via tries and assists, would be outweighed by the points he'd concede with defensive errors. My feeling is that he'd be a greater positive in that regard at this time than either Ashton or Brown.

Have never rated Ashton that highly, a good finisher to be fair and a good strike rate for England with 17 tries in 30 games, but take away his 9 in 3 v Italy, Georgia and Romania and suddenly 8 in 27 doesnt look so impressive!
