Congratulations to Gillingham and Martin "Mad Dog" Allen on promotion. Been trying to get out of the league for so long now and it has finally happened. Back in league one. End of season league 2 topic 3559488474

Take a look at the League 2 table with one game to go. Any two of 7 teams can still go down into the mire of Conference football = high pressure.

I'm going to be at Sixfields for the Northampton vs Barnet game. Hoping for a big win to go into the playoffs on the back of but also wouldn't mind to finish 6th or 7th so we get the 1st leg at home and have a great possibility (72% win rate at home this season) of leading going into the 2nd leg which I'll also be at.

Well Aldershot relegated, shame really old fashioned club, with a cracking terrace. The club has been struggling financially this season, so relegation could be for the best. Re build and try for promotion next season. Won't be easy though, they will have a good rival match next season though with Woking.

I was in the crowd at Bedford about 10 years ago when Aldershot won to clinch promotion to the Conference back before the North & South existed and the Ryman Prem was level 6 on the pyramid. The season before Ebbsfleet, who were Gravesend & Northfleet at the time beat Bedford on the last day to clinch the title too.

I am hoping and praying that Jack Midson and Gary Alexander have their goal scoring boots on, on Saturday. If we beat Fleetwood we are safe. Let's hope the Gods are smiling down on us......

How?

They'll not only lose there Football League membership, not only lose the solidarity payments from the Football League, not only lose the TV revenue, but they'll be entering one of the most competitive leagues in the country, and quite possibly the hardest league to get promoted from.

I'm sure they're all looking forward to that

Bit of gamesmanship by Barnet, sounds like their skipper delayed the kick off by a few minutes.

Plus a lot of fans, including myself, were still lining up at the turnstile at 2:59.

Barnet did not play anything like a team fighting for survival. If you'd been in coma and then come to Sixfields you'd think Barnet were safe. Game completely changed when Bayo came on for Moyo. Moyo is the worst player I've had the pleasure of seeing in the flesh. God awful.

Edgar Davids outclassed by Lewis Hornby who only turned 18 on Thursday.

Cheltenham only giving 1500 tickets to Northampton for the 2nd leg on Sunday. After season tickets and members priority they go to Barnet stub holders before general sale.

Fingers crossed that there's still some left for me then. Get some priority over the fans who'll want to turn up because it's a big game.

Well, if I don't get to go to a semi leg I can save the money towards Wembley for the final. Whistle

Well done to Rotherham and Port Vale for bring promoted. Micky Adams is a Brighton legend, so buzzing for him. Rotherham are a club on the up, however there manager isn't a very well liked man. I think he is a bit of a legend tbh. But there stadium, fan base and if they have a good budget, they could be a good bet for promotion next season in league one. Evans will make his return to Crawley, might have to get a ticket for that one.

Shame for Barnet getting relegated, i know they are a real community club. But chance to re build in the non league, won't be easy for sure. Can see Davids leaving.

Great end to the season. Roll on next year where hopefully MK Franchise will crash and burn towards relegation and Creepy Crawley will also tumble back down to where they belong and stop punching above their weight.

Seems Richie Barker has said Alexander will be back at Crawley for pre-season training as he still has a year left. I imagine how he does will determine where he ends up at the start of the new season. His wages aren't cheap though, so depends on AFCW's budget.

Upsetting to hear about Aldershot town. Great old fashioned league club with superb fans. Hope there problems can be sorted out soon!

Really do hope the problems can be sorted out and they climb back into the football league where they belong!

As for the play offs tonight, i would like to see Bradford go up, purely because of there cup run. Would top off an amazing season for them.

Went to the Bradford game last night. Atmosphere was fantastic pretty much throughout from the Bradford fans. Bradford's midfield were poor, Defence nervous, and I and a few fans around me couldn't understand why he started with one main striker.
Burton deserved the win, and Calvin Zola was the main difference, he was class, and his 2nd was a brilliant Finnish. Thompson's class Finnish means the tie is really set up for Sunday, but just can't see Bradford stopping Burton scoring and winning 2-0, though you never know.

Northampton vs Bradford should be a decent final.

Would like to see Bradford go up personally, as it would top of a superb season for them, getting to the carling cup final and playing at Wembley twice.

Although, Aidy Boothroyd is a superb manager and would be good to see him jump up the leagues again!
