Rigo Got This: Final Thoughts - Page 4 Empty Rigo Got This: Final Thoughts

Post by davidemore Thu 11 Apr 2013, 4:21 pm

First topic message reminder :

So excited about this one. Rigo got this by KO IMO. I just think that despite not having many 12 round fights under his belt, and despite him having slight chin issues (remember the weight he fights at, KO weight), he's got this.

What ya'll think, ya'll? Who got this in your mind and why?

Whatever happens it will be one hell of a fight, sheer entertainment, and a purest's dream. I know it. No stinker here, nu uh.

Excited. heart boxing

I feel I should qualify my earlier statement slightly. Obviously Donaire has a good right hand, he is an elite level championship fighter. He's powerful in both hands, but I am a little critical of the way he uses his right sometimes.

Right/Back hand is generally accepted to mean the straight. Any other punch is referred to by description i.e. left hook, right uppercut, screw shot etc

If Rigo were to win, would it mean that Nonito is another overhyped fighter?

No, it'll show Rigo is just better than him at 122

Donaire is an exceptional fighter but its no mystery that he hasn't looked his best since he has moved up

You don't dominate 3 divisions and lose to a unbeaten, world class amateur and world champion then be called a overhyped fighter

Can't wait for this fight, I really can't. Been ages since I've been so excited for a fight. Donaire is my favourite fighter and right now for my money P4P number 1 and Rigo I rate very very highly as well, he's a special talent. The difference here is that Rigo is a special talent whereas Donaire is a special fighter, much more rounded from his experience in the pro game and has delivered time and again in his biggest fights when people pick an opponent to beat him.

Donaire to beat a very tricky Rigo who can leave with his head held high........ Once it's been retrieved from the 2nd row following a brutal left hook.

Rigo's been able to beat half decent fighters with an amateur style but he needs more than that in this one.

Donaire realises Rigo is the more talented of the two in a stand off "connection for connection" kind of fight. For that reason he'll pressure and flurry as much as possible to take Rigo out of his comfort zone. I don't know what happens when Rigo is taken there. Nobody does, not even Rigo. That's what makes this fight so interesting for me. Perhaps it doesn't matter, perhaps this one will be over before it gets started.

RIGO! RIGO! RIGO!

Come on be English!

Root for the underdog...

The only annoying thing is we have to wait until dill o'clock or get up tomorrow and hope for no spoilers. Fights like this deserve to be seen alert and live.

Stink fests like Bellew the other week should have been fought in the middle of the night.

Rigo to score with a huge uppercut that catches the judges eyes early.

A humble prediction.

In reality yes. But on here when ranking Nonny, just wait. All the adjectives will come out. Boxing fans are more fickle than a first date.

HD is fantastic. When you watch it for years and then have to be forced to watch a footy match on sky sports 3 (not in HD with virgin for some reason) it looks pathetic and you just wonder how you watched I like that previous?

Saying that, that's only my opinion, as Azania does not think its all that.

Taste preference I presume, not too sure.

With regards to the fight, I'm sat here now ticking away the hours. Can not wait.

Ring walk time anyone??

I'm on the edge. I fancy a Rigo domination show, complete outclass and shutout.

I just can not take Donaire power with a pinch of salt though as Rigo has not been known for an iron chin.

Ahhhh what the heck. Rigo by KO no more than 8 rounds.

Ha!

Would make for an interesting view from experts regarding Donaire if thats is the case.

Im on the fence. I wouldn't be surprised to see Donaire just murder him within 2 rounds.

Saying that, I just fancy Rigo to do a solid job and just batter him All night long.

No way does Donaire get outclassed here guys, the man has barely lost a round in the last 4-5 years when both his hands are functioning. I fancy Rigo to out box him for small periods but not enough to win many rounds when Donaire will shake him to his boots every time he lands.

Both his right and left hand have been injured in his last half a dozen fights which is worrying going agaisnt someone who can exploit any sort of weakness

Got work mate, nightmare weekend to have to cover someone. Nightmare. I'm going to try and stay up as late as poss, but believe me, I'll be watching this one with no spoilers as soon as I get to work if i don't make it. Then I'm giving it the big debate with you guys.

These type of fights are what boxing needs. Prime fighters, elite fighters, happy to put it all on the line. Epic.

GGG looks huge and MAck had a belly. Sad times. I'll root for Mack come fight night like I do all Brit's when they fight for world titles. But i fear for him. GGG has that smiley, I'm going to eat you look.

Think macklins style plays right into GGG hands,

KO in 4.

Donaire might be the favourite for the bookies, but so many people are picking against him, it makes this fight even more exciting than it already is!

Many boxing people on youtube as well as online are picking Rigo to pull off the upset.

Indeed boxin fan. I'm nuts for staying up but I love it. Can't get enough.

Like I said before, if I HAD to put my life on it, I'd say Donaire by KO within the first few rounds.

But I have this feeling that Rigo will make him look stupid and will really box his ears off and make him miss all night.

I cant not stay up for it! Hope the next few hours fly by, but with the misses watching something about baby cradle film from 1992, then I highly doubt it.

You've nothing to worry about anyway. According to you and your video Rigo is a mug tailor made for Donaire. Foregone conclusion, I don't even know why you're waiting up!! Very Happy

Lads, this is gonna be cagey and bloody special, but somewhere along the line a left hook taps Rigo's chin and he will be flattened.
