Never understand why people expect teams to kick the ball out of play. 9 times out of 10 a player will go down in an attempt to get the other team to kick the ball out, Dzeko did it against Liverpool earlier this year and as soon as he realised it hadn't been kicked out he was up and running around like nothing had happened.
I agree; unless it's a head injury or it's pretty obvious someone is badly injured, I don't think the ball should be kicked out of play. Utd are very guilty of that.

This was a high and late challenge, the player was down for a spell. Totally different.
Back to the Suarez bite, it gets worse every time you see it.

I haven't watched the game Duty, not going out of my way to watch any football anymore but play until the whistle, if the ref doesn't blow then don't stop.

Cannot believe that immediately Rodgers was attempting to deflect the issue onto an elbow in the first half. You cannot defend the indefensible.

All he should have said was that the matter would be looked at internally but until that point they could not comment.

I really don't see any option for the FA.
The Dutch FA handed him a 7 game ban for the same thing.

Hes probably gonna have heard about it/seen it once maybe, compared to about 15 times Jamie Carragher is probably going to have told him hes been elbowed in the face. "HE's KTHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ELBOWED ME KKKRRFFFFFFFFFFFFF IN THE FACE LA!"

Well yes GSC. but the FA wont ban him from the prem- they will clearly give him a harsher penalty than the one he faced in holland though.
Its wether liverpool want to keep him on. Which off course they really do !!
I have a feeling he will get a 10 match- half a season ban for this and he will probally stay on at liverpool..
If they can get good money for him- they need a replacement- but if rodgers can get his head out of the sand when it comes to carrol they at least have him to come in to the team- he offers something different off course but still good.

I imagine most of them would cheat to get a win for their teams. If they knew that a dive would win them a penalty and get them promoted, or save them from relegation, if they knew that a little foul would stop the other side from scoring I'm sure 99% would do it.

I honestly don't see how it doesn't "bother" you Crimey.
It's not a case of cheating, it's a case of just being a vile human being.
He's gonna drag you through the mire again, and again, and again.
If he was a Norwich player doing the things he'd done, I'd want rid. No matter how good he was.

I think theres a slight difference between diving and biting someone.
Though Suarez would be a common link between the two.

I don't think he will leave the club but I won't be surprised if he does and if he is kicked out I would respect liverpools owners a bit more.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
I'd rather challenge for Europe than slip further into the mid-table.
I'm sorry if that's seen as accepting something awful, but it's the truth. I don't expect or want the club to defend him, I don't want the FA to ignore it, but I don't want to get rid of the only genuinely world class player at the club.
It's a sad fact that without Suarez right now, we'd be struggling to stay in the top half. We're only going to slip further down the table without the footballing ability of an actual top class player.
If he's a vile human being, so what?! He's not employed to be a pariah of morality or even a good person, he's employed to be a good footballer and that's exactly what he does. It's frustrating that he does stupid things, it's frustrating that he's going to end up with another lengthy ban and another reason for people to generalise about the football club...but I find it frustrating when a player plays rubbish, or if a footballer makes a disgusting tackle.
I don't care what he's like as a human being, I care that he plays excellent football and scores goals. If he could cut out the idiocy than that would be even better, but it'd be great if Sturridge could cut out his wastefulness or Lucas could cut out giving away silly fouls, or any other things like that.
If people want to taint the football club with Suarez' behaviour then that's their problem, Liverpool haven't condoned it, they haven't asked him to do it and I can't imagine them accepting it. But that doesn't mean they should abandon all business and football sense and get rid of him.

I don't understand what the Hillsborough disaster has to do with it though?
I'm sure the 96 who died would have been the same as all the fans in the stadium today, singing Suarez' name after he scored the vital goal to save the game.
Unfortunately Truss, while I'd love to agree with that statement, right now Suarez is the difference between Liverpool just about keeping up with the European places and falling into mid table, if not slipping into the bottom half of the table. How much realistically will Suarez be sold for if it's common knowledge that we want to get rid? £20 million? That money won't buy us a decent replacement, we'll slip further behind, and it'll get to the point where it's unrecoverable.
I honestly couldn't care less what kind of a human being he is, to me he's a footballer, that's all I care about him. As long as he's a good footballer that's good enough for me. I'd love for him not to be an idiot, not because of the morality of his actions or anything like that, but because it gets him bans. I'm not defending his actions, I'm just saying that for me, they don't really matter.

Hillsborough has everything to do with it..........They are part of the club's history........
If someone's behaviour is repeatedly disgusting then it brings the club's good name down..
What example is he to the kids of Liverpool!!

Why should it bring the name of the club down? Suarez hasn't been asked to do it by the club, nor have they condoned his behaviour. They employ him for his footballing ability, and in that respect the club are doing very well to keep him employed. He'll get a punishment from the FA, the club will internally punish him, but I don't see why they should sell him and actively make the club worse footballing wise.
Well as Suarez has been universally criticised for his actions, it sets the example that if you bite somebody it's wrong. Footballers shouldn't be role models for children anyway, they swear a lot, they spit a lot...
I do get it, but I'm not going to manufacture some offence to an action which was wrong because to me it's irrelevant, I want Suarez at the club because he brings the side success, he's the difference between slipping further down the table and being in touching distance of Europe. I'd rather the club was despised than the club wasn't successful. Manchester United are hated by most who aren't United fans, but I'm not sure the footballing success they have makes up for that. I know the analogy isn't really that clear cut as they are hated for different reasons, but for me the morality of Suarez isn't important, it doesn't affect me and I don't think it should really bring the name of the club down, and even if it does, I'd accept that for more success.

That is true, but I don't think there is any suggestion that the club will do the same this time. I am fully in favour of an FA ban and an internal ban as well if the FA one isn't seen as long enough. I just don't think selling him, for presumably a lot cheaper than before this game, is the right answer. Players have come back from controversy before, including Suarez.
Should Manchester United have sold Cantona after he kicked a fan in the face? No.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
He'll continue to let you down Crimey, but I'm actually in agreement with you. It would be easy to sell him but very difficult to replace him. I don't think Liverpool would get anywhere near his "real" value because of the baggage that comes with him. I reckon they'd get £20m if they're lucky, when in truth he's worth about £30-35m. If it was another club with (forgive me for this Liverpool fans) more than one absolutely genuine world class player then he'd be out but when the team is built around him, he won't be leaving. My only question is how many more incidents will Liverpool continue to defend him over?

Suarez had his chance, and he keeps spectacularly being a Tinkywinky. Diving, handballing it in the cup, troubles in internationals.
There's probably about £30m Liverpool could make from his sale and a statement they could send out by getting rid. Henry has a bit of money too, there's players out there to get that could go some extent to replacing him.
I wouldn't want that behaviour at my club anyway.

I reckon a good swap deal to the Spanish league or psg could be well on the cards tbh..
Or just sell him to psg.. Forget 30 m.. They would probably pay 40 m
