Ah that was nice from Graham. Many others would have kicked their own foot.

That was a great pass from whoever and the finish was neat too. Mignolet's been a bit shoogly tonight but I don't think he could have done much about that. Now, can they hold on for more than a minute?

Honeymoon over for Di Canio then, and what a massive boost this is to Villa in terms of goal difference.

You'd have got about 25/1.

Bale would be a good bit for united, left wing sorted and real genuine pace which we have lacked this year.
After rvp I don't think city would allow us to get a player we were both in for though.
Also don't like the fact bale turned us down before.
That was down to getting first team Football though wasn't it? Can't blame him to much for that, and he will get it now.
He was marginalised by redknapp and only got in the team when there was a huge injury list, showed some form and stayed in the side.
Still be warming the bench but for that luck, he's a silly boy.

Wow! Reminds me of a story I heard (maybe on here?) about someone's friend who put £10 on Falcao to get a hat-trick against Chelsea in the Supercup at silly odds.

He's 40/1 to get another in their next game at the weekend vs Norwich so id guess around that

Yeah it'd be a higher price for an away player.

You may have got that on Betfair but the industry bookies wouldn't give you that price for a decent striker playing in a home game against a struggling team like Sunderland.

Sadly not. Just had a feeling today.
Great result. Some good individual performances.
Lowton was quality.
Big big result, confidence high now.
Need to back it up at Carrow Road.
I'll take a repeat 4-1.
Happy and proud of the team tonight.

Top stuff tonight Westy. Unless Wigan win at West Brom then they are done for in my opinion. Too much to do.

Other good thing is we've turned round our goal difference.
Very delighted obviously. But need to back it up at Norwich.
I said that we needed 4 points from tonight and saturday.
Win saturday and i'll buy everyone pint.
Cheers.

Fantastic win for the mighty Villa, really think they will stay up now. Benteke simply has to leave in the summer way too good for them. Di Canio really has his work cut out now, and his managerial skills really will be brought to the test to see how he gets them back up for the Stoke game next week.
Villa win on Saturday and Norwich are back in the dog fight IMO

Nervous olly
If we do stay up, think Benteke will stay.
Tough to keep hold of him.
Need to strenghen the defence to.
Some of his signings are playing well now.
Hope they will improve more next season.

Meant about Saturday olly.
Think you will be ok.
Think Wigan though have maybe 2 more wins in them(not us ).
But other teams will pick up points. Think it may be a draw saturday. We've had our big win now.
Can see them beating the baggies & Swansea.
Hope they dont though.

I dont see them beating WBA mate!
As for Saturday im looking forward to it, should be a good game. I much rather you were coming here after a win than a loss last night, id be more nervous if you lost last night and desperately needed it on Saturday!
I fear Benteke though!!

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
With Wigan, they just wont go away, like a dog at the dinner table.
They have a knack of getting results.
Love us to follow up last nights result on saturday.
Dissapointed if we lose, on the back of that result.
Benteke is da man.
Never heard of him till last August.
I have slated Lambert with a couple of his signings, but praise him big time for Benteke.
I was gonna try and go saturday, but am up in the east midlands(girlfriends family from there).
Actually going to Leicester rugby match, her dad asked me to go, dont mind rugby, so said i'd go. But come 3 o'clock, i'll be looking at my phone more than the game.
I'll try and get to Carrow Rd next season.(In the prem).
Its a bitch to drive to from here.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
i think its one of wigan or newcastle tbh. sunderland, villa and stoke have picked up massive wins recently. unfortunately i think itll be wigan, it may benefit them though if villa are already safe by the time they face them on the final day. i think norwich have just enough points now, although id say if there was still 8 to play they would be in big trouble, so a big summer is ahead for them
unfortunately i think wigan just have too much to do now. newcastle have gotten away with it

Haven't read all that due to not having the inclination to but I can imagine what it's like.
He seems to have a large chunk of journo's and writers in his pocket though I've no idea why?

He's always good to them; he'll give them interviews most of the time (through the window of a Land Rover) and always has some soundbites. Plus, he's a Cockney and it's quite hard to dislike Cockneys.

Hes got a long relationship with many of em from various clubs and from the days where footballers were mates with journos. He'll have been loved by the old guard after being very good mates with Bobby Moore (who was very good friends with Jonathan Pearce and Jeff Powell [of the Dirty Mail])

Bale has been named FWA Player of the Year as well. I'm still not sure if it's really deserved.

In the league:
van Persie - 23 goals, 13 assists, 1 PL winners medal
Bale - 19 goals, 9 assists, no PL winners medal (and no guarantee of CL football either)

Suarez also not in the top 3, which I was really surprised by. I expected him not to do well in the PFA, but do better in the FWA.

Either could have won, and either would have been deserved winners.
