115-112 Khan, gave it a 10-9, so could be 114-112

Spot on as always mate. Best 'watch' in boxing by a mile. Quite enjoyed that fight although Diaz should have nicked it in my slightly cooked opinion

He gave away too many rounds, didnt make it competitive for 7 of the 12 rounds, when he did he won the rounds

I don't fully agree he is the same fighter as he was under Roach. He used his head a lot more and avoided a war when he got tagged.

He slipped punches and blocked more on his gloves. The problem though is still he can't take a punch.

I can see him picking up another belt, he can beat Peterson.

I can see improvements and I think they will be clearer in his next fight.

I don't get how Diaz could have won that fight. Khan won 8 rounds clearly. Diaz 4 with 1 10-8 round.

Had it for Khan by a round but he was woeful if anything he looks worse and easier to hit than ever. If a 5 years past his best natural lightweight can hurt you and hit you so easily then you are in big trouble at the top level. Always felt Khan was a massive media hype job who makes far too many mistakes to be a truly top fighter and tonight just confirms it for me again. Lucky for him he had such a generous ref as well, who let Khan get away with murder and was as much the reason for Khan not getting stopped or KOed as Khan himself.

Lets not forget that Khan was also a LW and Diaz was coming down in weight. Diaz was the one who asked for a 143 limit.

But Khan seems easier to hit that ever. His recouperative powers impressed me. He can take a chin shot ok. Its the neck and temple shots that give him issues. Better guys will bum rush him and gove more problems. Khan doesn;t hit hard enough to deter them and doesn;t stay in the pocket long enough. For all his natural talents which are many, he seems very innatural in there in that he just doesn't know how to fight to get the best out if his talents. As such his gflaws get exposed more than they should.

Ressurect Emmanuel Steward.

Yup, I had it 8-4 Khan too and thought the scoring was good. The ref was very bias though.

Strongback, I still see the same guy who stays in the pocket too long right in front the opponent and looks to land 5 or 6 punches instead of getting back out of range. Plus backing out in straight lines.

He was switched for a few rounds then went right back to the old habits.

Was the same tactics as for Garcia, but Diaz didn't hit as hard.

Khan was a lightweight when he was a boy, as he matured its clear he is a big LW who would probably be in with the welters now but for his dodgy chin, Diaz was in his prime was at Lightweight. If the Ref had put a stop on his constant holding then he may well have lost. Take away all the media love in and you have a decent B level fighter who was lucky to be around in the days of so many titles on offer because he never was or will be the best fighter in the world.

I'd be interested to see ther in ring weight. As I said, Diaz was the one who was coming down in weight and asked for the 143 limit. It's not exactly that he was carrying any timber anyway. He looked ripped.

Khan moving up to 140 gave him added strength. I reckon he was killing himself to make 135 and affected his punch resistance. He is chinny but has good recovery. His main problem is his defence. I don;t see the media love in. He is liked because he delivers exciting fights especially due to his vulnerabilities.

I thought Khan spent most of the fight circling away from Diaz's left hook. I didn't see him moving in straight lines. His main problem is the same I'll agree, he can't take a punch.

He would beat Garcia if his chin wasn't glass.

He needs to learn to fight defensively like a Wlad.

I don't think his chin is that much of an issue. It's that he gets hit by everyone. And with the same punch time and time again. Give him credit in that he has a very strong work ethic, but it seems the technique to avoid a left hook is something he cannot find out.

Plus when he's coming out of the pocket he lets his guard down. Nothing about coming out in straight lines.

Agree with this, as soon as he got tagged and hit the deck, he started circling whenever possible. Good advice from the corner, or his own initiative?

He did that in fits and spurts, a lot of the time he jumped in range and stayed there so Diaz was able to hit him time and again with the same punches Garcia landed.

His heart and fitness are incredible and I don't think his chin is that poor. It's just that his defense is so useless that when he does get hit, they are wide open shots which land heavy.

I thought Diaz was looking to land two punches all night, the left hook and overhand right. These power shots that Diaz threw had Khan in all sorts of trouble every time they landed. Manny could let Diaz punch him in the head all day with little effect. It's hard to talk too much about tactics when the guy gets blown out every time he gets hit even by average punchers.

No discernable improvement at all from Khan there for me. Only reason he survived was that it was Diaz rather than a top rated light welter he was up against. But if that was Garcia then its all over in round 4 again most likely.

Khan is in trouble when hes tagged with most heavy shots. He panics and is all over the place until his head clears. Very much frank brunoesque like i mentioned earlier.

khans got some great shots and impressive handspeed but his inability to be composed when hes tagged is always going to cost him fights. Every man and his dog knows his weakness and guys a level above Diaz would have finished Khan off. Its a shame as Khan could have been a very special fighter.

I disagree RE Big Frank

When Bruno got tagged he froze, never went down infact Witherspoon had to throw EVERYTHING and the kitchen sink to put Bruno down after tagging him.

Khan gets tagged and its Saturday night fever.

Thought he fought with his head more and didn't get dragged into a war like he has when tagged in the past. Unfortunately it doesn't matter if it's a war or not, land on Khan in any manner and he's wearing disco pants.

Maybe they react in different ways but both fighters biggest issue is going to pieces when they get tagged which was my point.

Khan will never be a real elite contender because of this.

I don't think there is anything from with Khans chin, I think he just seems to have a very dangerous defense and not quite a strong enough chin to compensate for it. Can took some hard clean shots that hurt him and he came back to win rounds. I was actually quite impressed with Diaz's pressure and durability, he came in for the win. I think he was a tougher fight than people were expecting, he is not past it and is a two time champ lets not forget.

But Khans defense is so open as he moves in it makes you cringe. He is quick, so can often slip them and move out the way but it just looks too risky! He needs to have a more solid reliable defense, or he is another accident waiting to happen.

On a positive note I think maybe the Roach trained Khan would have got drawn in more and ended up loosing the fight, he did show a little bit more composure this time.

Being knocked down does not necessarily mean you are chinny. Its what happens to you after you have been knocked down. WK is Chinny but when was the last time he got knocked down?

If you have a poor defense then this is also an ingredient for getting flawed allot.

You listed 6 people who have knocked him down, none of which knocked him out all of them he beat the count, and 4 of them he won the fight.

I think Khan in the past has used his offence as his defense but now he is getting found out, he is going to have to adjust..
