*new* - Interview with George "the animal" Steele

Good evening one and all.

Welcome back to another v2 Wrestling exclusive interview.

Following on from our recent interviews with the Honky Tonk Man and Tim Arson, Gavin and I are delighted to present an exclusive interview with Jim Myers aka George "The Animal" Steele.

For those who missed out on Georges wrestling career, he started off in the early 60's working the wrestling territories before being called up to the WWF in 1967 to face Sammartino.

His character (not gimmick as he corrected us on!) was that of a crazy animal like heel. His trademark Neanderthal like promos, however, only came about after a typical Vince McMahon misinterpretation of George purposely making a joke promo.

During the interview, Jim talks about the characters he met along the way (the Macho Man section in particular was fascinating) as well as details about his upcoming biography. A particular highlight of mine was Gavin asking him if he wrote it himself, just moments after Jim telling us that he had suffered from dyslexia all of his life!

I'll take a listen shortly, in honesty I don't know a huge amount about the Animal but from what I read he seems a larger than life character so it should be a good listen
