Leinster v Glasgow Warriors The Semi Cometh - Page 10 Empty Leinster v Glasgow Warriors The Semi Cometh

First topic message reminder :

Well boys, here we are at the mid-way point on the rope bridge: who will tumble into the crocodile infested waters and who will march on to Ulster?
Thereplacements bench vs Connacht pretty much tells us who will deffo start, so
1. Grant (British and Irish front row of the season)
2.WeePee ( although I can't put a cigarette paper between him and Hall on form)
3. Angela ( pit mair weight oan that bar!)
4.Swinson (unbelievably consistent this season)
5. Kellock ( if paternity leave is over, Ryder played very well v Connacht but we wont go to a Dublin semi without our spiritual leader)
6. Bluto
7. Barclay
8. Wilson ( the back row picks itself, Harley is very unfortunate but will be on the bench)
9. Matawaloo (furra linee)
10. Ruaridh ( he is the only 10, with Horne and Hogg as cover)
11. DTH
12.
13.
14. Maitland
15. Hogg

The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed no centres. I think this is where Toonie will earn his corn, or not.
Horne-Schlong were good on Friday. Schlong was very good going forward, but can he defend against the angles BOD will conjure up?
Morrison- Dunbar would be solid defensively and if Dunbar got the ball could be effective going forward.
Morrison-Messiah would certainly carry some clout.
Dunbar-Horne would be the most attack minded.
Then again 10-12-13 could be Horne-Dunbar-Messiah defending from out to in and forcing Madigan back into the loving embrace of Barclay.
I know games are won or lost in the pack, but if Toonie picks the right centre combination we will win convincingly as opposed to throwing away a winning position earlier in the season.
How many sleeps till the match?

What a great game. Two teams that came to play rugby.

Leinster deserved to win for keeping Glasgow out. Despite all Glasgow attacking they couldn't get the ball down when it counted.

Great game tho

That scrum at the end is what you call the ref bottling a decision. The scrum was down before the ball went in and he said play on.

Unlucky Glasgow great game, felt you were a bit hard done by in the breakdowns. The ref had to take a lot of credit and did not allow forward pass tries that has blighted a lot of games.

It's the way rugby should be played mate. When you watch the S15 you get a lot of this kind of play. Great to watch.

Commiserations Glasgow fans, you should feel proud of your team, they played some of the best rugby I have seen this season.

Had this game been at Scotstoun, I suspect the result would have gone the other way - a couple of missed BPs have come back to haunt the Weege, but what performance tonite - magnificent

The last league match was very similar, they just seem to make big yards every time they run at us but we managed to just about hold out.BoD going off was a big blow, our midfield defense is way too passive without him,I hope O'Connor can work on that next year as I think we are starting to feel the lack of a dedicated defense coach.

Gibson, Pete & all other Leinsterposters; good luck in the final. You won and at the end your team were bloody but unbowed, just. But fair do's you stuck it out and won.
Schiz, As, Fes, GC et al it has been one hell of a ride Hug
I never ever lose track of the score but I did tonight and actually thought we had taken the lead. I think that was a reflection of the fact that we were playing outstanding rugby and Leinster were playing at being John Wayne in The Alamo. Utterly superb performance by Glasgow and you just felt that if the defence had broken just once more than the floodgates would have opened. If Toonie can keep moving forward then we will have many more performances like this next season. From 1 to 23 I am proud of all of them tonight. clap clap clap

Argh! if only Niko could bluddy pass! sappped all momentum fom the midfield with Horne having to check his runs for passes going behind him, above him, below him, you name it. So much enterprise, but Maitland and VDM never got the ball because of the service. Hes got vision that so few players have, but the basics are just not there.

Leinster are one of those teams that are so on the ball every second of the game. Heaslip putting pressure on Hogg to make him butcher a try, sexton rushing up in defence to cause a Glasgow knock on near the line, Kearney preventing what should have been a certain try for Grant. They are just coached very very well and although Glasgow had them guessing at times they always fell back into "Leinster mode", what I call their default structure. And its very impressive.

This should have been the final in my opinion, no offence Ulster fans. I just feel Glasgow were unlucky to have Leinster rather than Ulster for their semi final and these two teams have been the best overall this season in the Rabbo, followed closely by Ulster.

Well done Leinster, good luck in he Amlin/Rabbo final Wink

No offence taken but I think you desperately need to acquaint yourself with the league table! Your opinion is one thing, the facts of who was the best side across the 22 games are in the public domain.

I hope Sexton finds his mojo in time for the summer, because all of a sudden the fly half department is looking veeeery bare.

That was a Super XV game in style, in attacking intensity and enterprise, in ruthlessness. Leinster, well done indeed and good luck for the final.

Glasgow just have to keep chappin on the door.
Was over for the last regular season Glasgow-Leinster match at RDS, great ground, great fans

Why Welsh went off so early? Scrum got worse after that.

Fair enough Notch, perhaps a bit harsh on Ulster who have been a very good side last 2 years. But going by Glasgow's record vs Ulster this season I think if it had been Leinster vs Scarlets & Ulster vs Glasgow, Glasgow would have had a better chance of reaching the final. But it didn't happen so it doesn't matter, two great teams in the final.
