Moyes has failed to win anything in 10 years at Everton. 10 years of League, FA Cup and League Cup runs amounting to zero trophies.

Fergie won titles galore at Aberdeen and had been Scotland caretaker manager before getting the United job.

While he's had less budget, let's not forget that he has actually spent big - Fellaini (£15m), Bilyaletdinov (£10m), Heitinga (£7m), Jelavic (£5.5m), Mirallas (£6m), Pienaar (4.5m) - it's not United big, but that's more than Albion have spent in transfer fees since the millenium, and it's only 6 players.

Speaking of which, someone said yesterday that United 'make stars', they don't buy them. Stars that United have bought:

Berbatov for £30m
Ferdinand for £29m
Veron for £28m
Rooney for £27m
RVP (already mentioned)
Anderson for £20m
Van Nistelrooy for £19m
De Gea for £19m
Carrick for £18m
Nani for £17m
Zaha for £15m

Not having a go at United's fantastic youth policy, but Fergie has spent fortunes on the first team over the last few years, so expecting Moyes to spend big this summer to make the team 'his own' is hardly pushing the boat out.

If Evra leaves this summer we KNOW he's in the know. But then again, it's hardly rocket science to see that Moyes will bring in Baines and need to ship Evra and his enormous salary out...

I've been smashing Be A Pro mode lately on Fifa.

Sadly now my loans are over and I'm back at West Ham, where they are playing me in defensive midfield and taking all the fun out of it. I need to play for a team that plays 4-4-2 or at least 4-2-3-1.

Yes I said the reports were 100% true and he would leave.
My mate did actually find out about lunchtime the day before but kept quiet on it, when it broke I asked if there was truth in it and he said it was definite.

Re Evra: all the players at Chester Races yesterday were talking over it and Gill, Evra and Evras agent had talks yesterday in Hale which got increasingly heated to the point Evra walked out.

heated to the point Evra walked out.
Thats just Evra haha.

Moyes will be fine. If SAF has hand picked him then you have to assume he will have the full support of Rio/Giggs/Scholes & if he takes Neville with him too it will all help towards "winning" the dressing room.

Transfer wise he only needs to do what needed to be done anyway. Sign Kevin Strootman!!! or Fellaini Very Happy
If a big signing like Ronaldo were to be true & happen that would win most fans over quite quick.

Hero, whats Richard Arnold saying about a Ronnie Return??

ZZZ - Moyes has scouted Strootman a few times this season so he looks to be a fan. That could be a real possibility.

The only possible negative is that Moyes likes his CF to work hard and work the channels. He has a history of taking some players who have scored plenty (Beattie, Johnson, Yak, Jelavic) and then them losing their scoring form. His tactics takes them away from where they can score goals.

Jelavic scored plenty when he was in the box and Cahill was doing the work. This season, Fellaini has played up top. He is not one to chase the defence and work the channels, so Jelavic had to do it instead. This is why willing workshorse Anichebe is playing instead.

Might not be great for RVP

I hate Fergie. We spent a glorious couple of weeks not talking about United, and yet here we are, doing it all over again furious

Let's talk about Everton! Laudrup would be a big mistake in my view, not sure Martinez would improve Everton at all, and so you need a manager who's used to working with no money and high expectations. Any ideas besides Mackay (who bought something like 20 players in two seasons)?

That will not happen. 1) Benitez is only interested in adding trophies to his CV and we do not win any; and 2) Everton is probably the only place he is disliked more than he is at Chelsea.

BK would be signing his own death warrant if he did that.

Martinez looks to be the likely one, but hopefully Pereira will be appointed

Benitez still has family living in Liverpool, he has stated he wants to return to Liverpool to work, but never said which club in Liverpool...

Everton want a cheap yet quality replacement, someone out of contract would be ideal, and if that someone is a former European Cup winner with significant Premier League experience then they'd be silly not to.

The only issue is Benitez being ex Liverpool, but I wouldn't say the rivalry between Everton and Liverpool is that hostile. Not exactly Celtic and Rangers.

I don't see the "Moyes hasn't won anything before" as an argument for why they shouldn't hire him.

Klopp didn't win anything at Mainz for 7 years, in fact they got relegated under his tenure, yet given the chance he hasn't done too shabby at Dortmund.

Benitez also made ill-advised comments about Chelsea then became manager, and while the fans dislike him he's arguably still been a success.

I'm not saying there wouldn't be uproar, but don't be surprised if it happens.
