First topic message reminder :

I don't know too much about Gonzalez, but think Burns should be good for a pts victory in this one. What do you guys think?

1 million quid is probably more than Matchroom would expect to earn off the rest of Burns career.

Agreed - I think if he had fought Broner and given a fair account of himself he might make a million or so from there and the rest of his career but now that ship has sailed.

The Ring journalist was Tom Gray from Motherwell who obviously had Flower of Scotland still pumping through his head when he wrote the article.

The funniest part of the piece was him seeming incredulous that three judges had Burns down by 3 rounds when it finished.

I've been thinking about this and I think it might have been fixed now too.

I have an explanation for why it took so long to get the message across though. The Gonzalez corner had to rehearse their lines and their angry/surprised/disappointed faces. They're quite accomplished actors back home in Puerto Rico so it only took them 2 rounds.

It all makes sense now.

According to him: "There was a huge disparity at press row with some writers having Burns as much as 3 rounds ahead" Shocked

Yeah I heard they took acting classes in Hollywood before coming over.

Anyone else think Burns looked like he wanted to cry?

Who is next up for him?

Probably Vasquez, who by this showing might beat him in a dull fight.
