London 7s
Day 2, and the Cup semi-finalists are NZ v Kenya and England v Australia.
This is a two tier competition with only three main Pools. The secondary competition is to determine the 'core teams' for the main IRB series.
On that note congratulations to Spain and Scotland for achieving core status. Russia or Portugal will tussle for the final spot.

England played superbly to reach the semis, look very good to go all the way. Some great rugby being played by Dan Norton.

Aye, he's a bit nippy is Dan Norton.
Justice for USA v SA in the Plate sf. 22-5. They were robbed in the Pool match by a turnover from an SA player in a clearly offside position leading to a winning score from the last play.

The current semi is close too. Half time seven all. Though England are playing well in the wide space they are conseeding many penalties in defence and have let the Ozzies get in to this.

No kenya and England lost. It's an Oz Vs Kiwi final.
Sad to hear so much booing from the crowd after such a great game. England deserved applause for the way they have played. Norton has been electric.

Fair play Aus
Maes, the crowd have 'adopted' Aus as the pantomime villians throughout the tournament, booing every try.
Sweet win for Aus then.

Sorry Bilts - it was France, not USA. So many games, so many beers.
Congrats to Wales on the Bowl win.

Too little, to late from USA. Fiji win the plate.
But Carlin Isles - wow!! He's the 100m sprinter USA fast tracked into their 7s team.

He's a bit of the Christian Wade about him has Isles.
Porrugal v Russia is lacking in core skills, but it's raining here in London.

Re: London 7s
What's nice about Isles is his balance as a runner. Lots of converted sprinters are great in a straight line but can't handle the steps, curves, stops/starts and variations in pace that rugby requires. Think he'll struggle in the XV game though.

3rd place for England. Some nice tries in that game.
timhen - if LF is right then Isles will be playing mainly in the French 2nd division next season. He is a lightweight, but is quick and elusive.

Yeah, there are elements of the Twickenham crowd I don't like. Usually the middle class berks who only follow team England, and wouldn't be keen on getting their shiny brown brogues dirty at a club game.
