Re: Moron XV?
Was it Doug Howlett that got into bother for dancing on the roofs of cars?
Bit harsh on Manu T considering what Tindall has got up to over the years (2 drink driving offences, getting off with an ex just before marrying royalty, dwarf tossing...)
Surely Danny Grewcock and Dylan Hartley have to be in consideration for this team - they are pretty much certainties for every 'nasty' team named on here...

Tana Umaga & Chris Masoe for the handbag incident.

You could put John Smit in at 2, remember they stole a road sign or something in NZ during the world cup.

PDV made it. While whoever that coach was with the mad extreme swimming ideas for training must be close.Biltong wrote:Geez, we can't even get a south African into the moron squad.
And there's always that bloke (le Roux?) who took a liking to Fitzie's ear.

Seeing that the starting Xv has been selected I suppose we can have Puke and Cannibal come on as Super Subs.
Puke can...err well puke whilst le Roux has someone's ear.

I will second your vote David.
Also Ryan Lamb got into a punch up or two, but it was provincial level (Glaws nite club) and not regarded as internatioanl class.

Harrison was the only player I knew of who started a scrap with the opposition coaches going into the tunnel at half time (not once, but twice; Paul Moriatey - Sca, Dai Young - Blu). Not sure if that makes him a moron, or just mentally challenged.

Because it was a straight shoot between him and Henson for the 12 shirt, so he never had a chance against the Orange one

Re: Moron XV?
Or a Plank.........as one alternatively annoying player pointed out!
Didnt Lesley Vanikolo get into a scrap.....was arrested and told the police his name was Seru Rambeni! I remember reading something about that somewhere.
Gavin Henson definately makes the list.
Delon Armitage didnt do himself any favours when still in the UK.
Big LOL when he lost the England captaincy for bragging to a reporter!
Coaches - PDivvy definately, not sure Venter deserves it (he isnt a Moron - just controversial).

Some of his press conferences have been pretty dumb no? He definitely isnt stupid, think he is a doctor so its unlikely. However, he has done some dumb things.

Re: Moron XV?
yes, Volcano got let astray by Barkley at a Bath night club and they both got arrested following a punch up. Yes I heard Lesley gave another players name ('all look the same to me' plod was quoted as saying)propdavid_london wrote:Or a Plank.........as one alternatively annoying player pointed out!

No Vincent Moscato or Gerard Cholley? Two absolute eejits, but probably before some peoples' time.
Craig Quinnell, Neil (ref shoving) Back, Federico Mendez, Schalk Burger, Thomas Castaignede (for blowing a certain try).

Re: Moron XV?
It's not his hair cut, and I'm saying all this very much tongue-in-cheek ! Also, I'm sure we could find a kinder description for all these players than "Moron"...
His runs and contribution around the pitch are almost always excellent. I'm just hoping that he matures into his career, and he is helped to manage any rough edges into something entirely positive.
I was with my son at the recent Glos v Harlequins game, when Glos unexpectedly won. As a neutral, it was an excellent game. Only one Harlequins player refused to sign autographs for the youngsters, and was apparently pretending to be on the phone to avoid this - it was quite funny ! By contrast, the likes of George Robson were absolute gents, even though they had just suffered the disappointment of a loss and had a late-night journey back.
I mention all this out of amusement, rather than any ill-will (there is none). There are always these characters in a rugby team from international to the grass-roots, and they are part of what makes rugby teams fun to be in, and support. Sometimes they need some guidance and TLC, but they are often key players in their team.

Re: Moron XV?
Thanks - it was just funny really.
I should remember that some of these players are thrust into a completely adult and pressurised goldfish bowl of a world, and are expected to behave impeccably, when many are not so far out of their teens.
I am in my forties, and should know how to behave .....

If you had Marler in for his hair cut you would have to include half of New Zealand and Australia! Mullet City!
