Lion tamer toys with listless Lions.
This just in from the future:
"After receiving a brutal mauling in test one Australia withdrew to lick their wounds. It was Robbie Deans with the injured pride after the first test which he described as a "circus". But with limited depth to call on Deans had no option but to call up ringmaster Cooper and what a lion taming show he put on in the ring. The lions continued to dominate set piece play but with a faltering line out and Cooper refusing to kick for touch the opportunities from set phase ball were limited. The lions fed on scraps far from the banquet of phase ball they enjoyed in the prior outing and lacking a reliable boot in the absent Johhny Wilkinson (European player of the year) could not capitalise on the set piece penalties thrown their way. Cooper was mercurial in his option taking, running to the line and offloading with numerous options and his spectacular 60 meter break out to set up Digby Ione sealed the lions fate. Wallabies 22 - Lions 13.
You heard it here first.

I don't gamble, but I'll bite, what makes you suggest that the Aussies will get soundly beaten in the first Test but the 'welsh' line out will 'falter' in the second ?

I've put my money where my mouth is and I'm sticking by it...
I got similar responses when I first stated Maitland would be a KwLion.

You haven't actually stated anything, just a few cheap digs at the Welsh Lions players - which aren't based on any fact

Where on Earth did you get that from? Reading between the lines is one thing...but you are more hallucinating between them with that notion.
I've stated two match results and a very precise score. What more do you want?

Really cant understand why so many people think Cooper a guy who has barely played test rugby in the last two years will be Australia's saviour. He is much more likely to bomb just like he did at the RWC.
Hope he does start, the Lions will have a field day if he does.

Creaking Welsh lineout kind of gave it away.... which is based on what exactly ?
You also stated on a different thread that JW wasn't going to be involved with the squad but now you are suggesting he will for the 1st game and not the 2nd which is why the Lions will lose the 2nd test ?

Again hallucination. I suggested nothing of the sort.

What we need is good combinators.

If Cooper plays the lions will score more than 13 points.

How many points in average to the reds concede?

Re: Lion tamer toys with listless Lions.
Wales themselves averaged over 18 points per game in their 4 matches last year vs. AUS and you would hope the Lions combined are a more attacking threat than Wales themselves.
Cooper didn't play in any of those matches. I think we can agree that he is a far worse defender than those who played in his place (Barnes and Beale) so had he been on the field Wales would have scored more points... although AUS may have scored more also so it doesn't mean the results would have been different.
In defence he is probably the weakest player in SR now that Danny Cipriani has gone back to England.

Poor logic. He might not be the defender Beale is. But the opposition can't score points whilst standing under their own posts wondering what Happened.

Better logic then someone who thinks that Cooper will improve the possession & territory percentages of his team by quite a margin. What he will do is improve them turning those percentages into points.
What Cooper does with the ball doesn't mean the opposition won't get fewer opportunities... but what is certain is that they will convert more of their opportunities then if they were facing a stronger defender (either at 10 or his usual defensive position as fullback).

Re: Lion tamer toys with listless Lions.
So let me get this straight, you want to bet...
JW and the lions win test one and Cooper doesn't play?
Cooper comes in for test 2 and JW is subbed out and lions lose?
Lions lose outright, with Coopers offload to Ioane to make it 22-13 lions?
I'll take that HERSHY boy, one of those doesn't happen and you pay out right?

No. I never said anything about JW playing the first Lions test. jeez you guys fantasize half of other posts and then get aggravated about things that were never written in the first place! You are like a boxer sparring his shadow or a tog chasing its own tail!

Apologies let me amend the bet...
Lions to win test 1 with no Cooper on the pitch
Cooper to return for test 2, refuse to kick at goal and Aus win test 2
Test 2 loss is due to goalkicking, and lions spurn enough points to win
Lions lose test 3 to a Cooper offload to Ioane to win 22-13
That better?

I never said Cooper would not kick at goal, or anything about test three. Again hallucination and shadow boxing.
Sometimes I wonder if you guys actually read other people's posts or just get into a venomous stew during the first sentence and fabricate the rest in your minds.
