Good for Henry. Why are they (refs) held above rebuke and reproach in the professional game?

They too are professionals but are seemingly beyond criticism and never called to account for not upholding the law, misinterpreting the law or indeed in some circumstances not even knowing the law.

In any other walk of life they'd be vilified if they were wrong. But in rugby, refs are like pussycats - if they cack, they immediately cover it up and if anyone smacks them, the authorities will likely as not be round pronto.
