Wouldnt say a 22-year old is in his prime. But I suppose he is closer than Floyd, so I see why you gave him that round.

This fight is over 12 rounds. Bit unfair to post 15 if Canelo has gas issues.

Prime 10-10, Floyd's last fight shows he's not past it and Canelo is young enough to improve
Floyd 10-9 stamina, Canelo gets tired
Canelo 10-8 power, bigger hitter at LMW than Floyd is at WW so is mucc stronger at 154

You love doing these, don't you?

Anyway, its hard to bet against Floyd beating anyone at WW-LMW. However, I can see this being one of the tougher fights he'll be in.
I'll go for Floyd by MD.
Canelo has enough skill to make things competitive and when the size difference is added on top, it should end up being a fairly close fight.

Also tends to refute (or if you prefer 'rebuttal') hisargument that he didn't fancy Hatton to beat PacMan.

Truss and his revisionist arguments! He also denies he backed Hatton vs Floyd, I don't know why? The majority of the board did back then! We know better DAve, we were there!

Have to agree that he went for Floyd from the outset however, his bold Manny/Hatton prediction is there for all to see.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Never picked Hatton to beat Floyd..........at welter..

Re: Canelo vs Floyd - 15 round analysis !!
I stand corrected . Apologies Truss! It was a Dela Hoya over Flyd pick. At the end of the day it was the conventional wisdom, but u certainly didnt like the fact that some of us called it different!

Re: Canelo vs Floyd - 15 round analysis !!
8 Prime 9 (we don’t know whether this is Canelo’s ‘prime’ or not, Floyd looks a notch off perfect)
8 Experience 10 (Canelo is very inexperienced compared to Floyd who’s basically the don)
10 Size 8 (even with the weight stips I’d expect there to be sizeable difference on fight night)
9 Stamina 10 (don’t buy into the 36=old can’t fight 3 minutes rubbish, Floyd’s great skill is he’s too perfect to need to fight every minute, he just needs to be sharp/switched on for it)
8 Ring smarts 10 (Canelo looks like he’s improved slightly here so up from the ‘7’ I would’ve given but Floyd is, again, the don)
10 Power 8 (Canelo definitely has the edge here, especially at LMW)
8 Speed 10 (…which is reversed re speed)
10 Chin 10 (equal)
10 Bodywork 9 (Canelo likes working the body more, and will need to as Floyd slips headshots so beautifully. Can he get round PBF’s elbows…?)
9 Jab 10 (most accurate jab in boxing, gotta be Floyd)
8 Footwork 10 (Floyd’s is a thing of beauty, Canelo flat in comparison)
0 snazziness 0 (wtf is this metric???! Nil point all round!!)
9 Cut resistance 10 (Canelo looks like he’ll cut if caught, Floyd doesn’t get caught…)
10 Workrate 9
9 Corner exp 10 (Floyd with the edge again, esp with his ol’ man there)
126-133 in Floyd's favour.....

Re: Canelo vs Floyd - 15 round analysis !!
My break down
10 Prime 9
9 Experience 10
10 Size 8 (Floyd is vastly overmatched here, Cotto was a small LMW, ODLH a legit one, but Canelo is a SMW fight-night)
10 Stamina 9
9 Ring smarts 10 (Floy obviously takes this, but Canelo isnt a neandrathol, and is way more polished than Robert "Push him to the ropes, get outworked") Guerrero
10 Power 9
9 Speed 10
10 Chin 10
10 Bodywork 8
9 Jab 10
9 Footwork 10
6 snazziness 10 (Im not sure what this means, but Floyd has a fleet of Bentleys, while Canelo is a Mexican Carrot top)
10 Cut resistance 10
10 Workrate 10 (Floyd works smart)
9 Corner exp 10
Total 139-143
