First topic message reminder :
I know that they're are a few other threads with the AP transfers etc on them but I just found a very handy list of all clubs total transfers as of today (hopefully). Let me know if any are missing.

Re: Aviva Premiership Squads for Next Season (Hopefully up to Date)
so pretty much up to date now.
Still can not believe that Quins are going with just the one signing.
Seeing as the boys are back in training now I guess that is our transfers for the off season!
Slightly scared by Bath and Saracens new players, could make them very tough next season. Can't wait to see North piledriving his way through the Prem either.

Re: Aviva Premiership Squads for Next Season (Hopefully up to Date)
That is very true, what have the management done for us eh?
Just an Amlin CC title, Aviva Prem title, Anglo Welsh title, Aviva Prem A league Title, being in the T4 for the past two seasons, securing HC rugby every season, evolving and developing one of the most eye catching and pleasing styles of play in the league, producing the highest number of home grown players in the league from one of the best academies in the league and topping that off with multiple England Internationals.
Sack 'em all!

Tigers signed a prop from LW the other day. Business could still be done or announced. The club may well have made more signings but may want to save the media unveiling for the new kit etc.

Got to confess I think we will struggle to make top 4 without a bit more depth, still confident of a HEC place but our big names are going to have to step up more than they did last season when they ended up looking very tired

Re: Aviva Premiership Squads for Next Season (Hopefully up to Date)
Cant wait to see George North in the AP, fantastic player to watch. And saints also look to have
done a good job replacing their departing props (large task) with the recruitment of Ma'afu and corbisiero. Fortuali a good signing too but cant help but think they look weak at 10, a position they have struggled with.
Paul doran jones has a big task replacing James Johnston who was a key player for quins.
Quins lacked strength in depth at some stages last season compared to their title rivals and it cost them. Bringing in only one player is a big call and they will need some more academy players to stand up and be counted this year if they are to challenge at the top.
Sarries appear to be strengthening an already strong squad. Johnston and Billy vunipola in particular could make the sarries pack a real force.
Tigers always seem to recruit well but no real big names to shout about yet. Interesting to see how jamie gibson goes at welford road, and i wonder if they can get the best from ryan lamb.
Bath have made a whole host of exciting signings, a lot in the backs but also garvey and sisi upfront. Bath really could have an all star backline one that could be very good to watch.
gloucester will be disappointed to lose hamilton, he has been an important player and leader, but they too have made some solid signings and kvesic looks one to watch in the back row, can he push his test credentials.
Irish have again let a lot of good players leave and have not replaced them witht he same quality, there must be financial pressures at the club and they look to be a long way from the HC places. a relegation battle looms on the horizon.
Wasps have done slightly better, they will be gutted to lose billy V but they have made several signings and they will be hoping some of the potential of last seasons performances will result in more consistency.
Exeter seem content to rely on their academy and as many have said to looks to be a good policy for now.
Falcons have recruited well and I look forward to seeing them play with a bit more ambition then their last season in the AP saull, clegg and brookes all look to have potential.
sale and worcester have both added players but not sure if they are the quality required to push them up the league, will be looking how arscott, mieres and jonathan thomas get on.

HQM, agree with everything you say there. I think Quins are really going to struggle unless we're very clever with how we cherry pick games and comps and let the youngsters have their time

Just a couple of signings for Glaws. Jonny Bentley from Pirates, Dan George from Welsh and Martyn Thomas has been re-signed. It is the latter signing that worries me most, as his re-signing is a big indication that Olly Morgan is going to retire

He's been injured since January 2012 with a cruciate knee injury. Prior to that he'd had a good run since getting back from a dislocated shoulder!

It'll be a really big shame if we don't see Morgan again. He really was a quality 15 who could have had a much bigger international career had he not been taken out and injured against Ireland. Really bad luck.

Wow Matthews' chances of taking the starting shirt just shot up. Gutted for Kohn, he's been a vital cog in their pack and possibly had the biggest impact on the scrum. Is Charlie up to it?
With Wentzel leaving Wasps decent locks will be in demand.

Wasps have already signed Myall who has Wentzel esque attributes so It's not so big a blow.
Is McKenzie still at Sale? He could be available. I guess the French leagues and SA will be the most likely recruitment options. The Championship has some decent forwards.

Morgan, Skinner, Gillies and Kohn. All could/should have had more/a chance with England.
Skinner was named as a future England captain by Martin Johnson while at Leicester, sadly things didnt go his way, was still a good player though.

Re: Aviva Premiership Squads for Next Season (Hopefully up to Date)
A real shame to hear about Payne, Kohn and Skinner having to retire. It's something we see all too often currently, one of the biggest arguments behind having less rugby played but at a higher standard when it is.
Kohn especially is a big blow to Quins as he offered real power in the engine room. A big opportunity for Matthews to step up though, hopefully he takes his chance.
Skinner, Quins are well covered for with his gametime in the last couple of seasons becoming more and more limited due to Robshaw and Wallace improving so much. He was always a played I thought could go onto higher honours given he was a traditional seven who offered link play with the backs which has often been missing for England in recent years. For a flanker he had real pace to burn in his day as well. What do you reckon Quins starting line-up will look like next season Chequered?
1.Marler
2.Buchanan
3.Doran-Jones
4.Matthews
5.Robson
6.Fa'asavalu or Guest
7.Robshaw
8.Easter
9.Care
10.Evans
11.Monye
12.JTH
13.Lowe
14.Williams
15.Brown
It's still a strong side but lacking a bit of depth in the tight 5 so may struggle to hold down a play-off spot as you say. I can't honestly say I've seen much of Botica but from what I have seen I'd be tempted to try him at 12 with Evans inside him and Lowe's pace outside to feed off Botica's play making.

Re: Aviva Premiership Squads for Next Season (Hopefully up to Date)
A couple of tweaks, king_carlos:
Depth in the tight 5 is the big question mark. I am confident that Matthews will do what Robshaw did in replacing Vos and Lowe in replacing Tiesi, and fill a very big pair of boots with aplomb. The main issue is that Collier, Sinckler, Twomey and Merrick are all excellent prospects but none of them have had much senior game time. However, the lack of recruitment makes me think that COS thinks they're ready, and who am I to disagree. Sinckler in particular is a cause for excitement: not the largest tighthead, but according to someone I know who's close to the squad he is already one of the strongest players in the senior squad. And a prop should not be able to move like that.
Elsewhere, COS will rotate Gray and Buchanan - when both are fit, one will get 50 minutes and the other 30, and the next week it will be the other way around. He will probably prefer Casson to JTH if the physios can keep him fit (Botica can also play 12, but it's better to keep him focused on 10. Before too long he will have to replace NEv).
I expect to see a lot more of Smith and Chisholm, and possibly Ollie Lindsay-Hague, this season, especially as Ugo is getting older and more injury prone. We may well see several games in which one of the younger players starts alongside one of the older wings. I also expect Chis to get time as a replacement full back from the start of the season if Brown is named in the EPS.

Fingers crossed for the bloke but I can't help feeling he will be one of those players who could have been great but just got injured at the wrong time.

Totally agree Bathman. I genuinely have never seen a better player under the high ball than Morgan, but I think that also contributed to his injuries as he would often hurt his shoulder from falling at height. Even if he does get back, I think he wouldn't ever return to the England set up.

True HKC, he got some much height off the ground he really gave the opposition little opportunity to contest for the ball. He could still return and shine yet. I can't see him coming back into England contention but you never know (look at what happened to Tom Youngs in a season) and the England 15 shirt is open to anybody at the minute.
