JWC 2013
First topic message reminder :
It's that time of year again where the future stars of world rugby compete for the top prize. This year the Junior World Cup is being held in France across stadiums in Nantes, Vannes and La Roche-sur-yon. I've toured Nantes and La Roche in the past. All of the guys should have a great team there and receive the warmest of welcomes from the French. The reduction in the No. of pools leaves us with some mouth-watering clashes this year, so much so that the match-ups are verging on 2/3 pools of death.

My team Wales may have the easiest pool, well that was my initial thought anyway. That was until I heard that in recent months Argentina beat JWC holders South Africa twice. We can't afford any complacency against Scotland either because we could easily slip up. I'm hoping Wales can go a step further than last years third place finish but without Cory Allen, Harry Robinson and Rhys Patchell we will find that very difficult. I guess Wilson will have them back to playing route 1 because we have quite a strong pack.
Future stars to look out for: I've been impressed by England captain Jack Clifford every time I've watched him play for the U20s, and Ireland No.9 Luke McGrath. Baby Blacks captain Ardie Savea seems to have been the topic of conversation on here too but I can't comment after not seeing him play.

Re: JWC 2013
Wales have every chance in this competition after beating an Argentinian team with 7 full capped players. The Irish pushed NZ to the wire and could have won.
Fact is the future is looking bright for Wales what with the U20's playing, the 7's squad training , a Wales team in Japan and 15 in the Lions squad.

Who? Du Plessis or Smit?
Jacques Du Plessis, however he wore 7 against England and France. He's a very impressive all-round player and over 2 metres tall. I can't believe Biltong thought the Baby Boks were going to do rubbish at this tournament, I think they're going to win the title.
p.s. Anyone know what is up with the quote/unquoting?

Re: JWC 2013
Two great semis yesterday, well done all concerned. Listened to the after match interviews and NZ really hurting over that loss. The competition's been really close this time and great to see NH sides contesting the title. These youngsters promise much for the future of 6Ns rugby.

you have to look at the former U21 rugby world cup as the U20 only started recently. it gives you an idea of the number of players that made to senior international level.
for instance here are the winning teams till 2005. you will find a lot of familar names but not many of them made the senior boks or ABs team although more than a few had a decent pro career after. cant find france 2006 winning team but I remember Domingo, Beauxis, Medart, Tillous Bordes, Chouly and Mermoz played.
2005 SA :
Heineke VAN DER MERWE, Chiliboy RALEPELLE, Sangoni MXOLI; Nicolai BLIGNAUT, Cliff MILTON; Derick KUUN, Hilton LOBBERTS, Pieter LOUW; Paul DELPORT, Morne STEYN; Marius DELPORT, Thaborg MOLEFE, Earl ROSE, Cedric MKHIZE; Hendrick DANILLER.
subs that played in the final : Ruaan PIENAAR, Gerhart MOSTERT, Davon RAUBENHEIMER, Harry VERMAAS, Mzwandile STICK, Adriaan STRAUSS

subs that played in the final: Piri WEEPU, K. HAIU, M. TUU'U, T. PAULO, H. GEAR.

Re: JWC 2013
What a game this is going to be. Wales are well overdue a win over the world class (that's only at this level mind) England and it looks like it could come at the right time .
Will update the thread later on, I've had a busy couple weeks.
