Jim Carrey in The Dead Pool – REALLY!

I don’t remember that much about The Dead Pool other than the demise of the drug addicted rocker near the film’s beginning. This isn’t surprising as it’s been over 20 years since I’ve last seen the film in its entirety. I recently caught a clip of that precise scene and was surprised to discover the rock star in question was played by Jim Carrey (or James Carrey as he appears in the credits). I guess James didn’t become Jim until the ‘90s, so it’s not surprising I didn’t recognise him the first time around – The Dead Pool being a film of the late ‘80s.

So my question relates to this: have you ever viewed a film for a second time, only to spot someone in there you missed the first time round?

Bill Zane in back To The Future. I noticed it the other week. He plays one of Biff's friends.

For some reason, the first time round, I thought it was a fat Michael Douglas.

Haven't watched the film but the clip of Jean Claude van Damme in Breakin' (I think) is hilarious.

Turned out to be Lawrence Fishbourne.

Con Air came on again last night - one of my favourite films! I noticed 2 people in this I didnt last time. The pilot is the guy who plays the US Marshall in Lost and the yellow-eyed demon in Supernatural. And funnily enough the convict who replaces him to fly the plane is also from Lost. He played one of the Others. The one we all presume to be the boss until we meet Ben.

I re-watched Empire of the Sun a couple of months back, that had a pre-fame Ben Stiller in it.

On the subject of soapstars in Hollywood, the guy who played Ray in Eastenders was in The Dark Knight. He played one of the bodyguards of that gangster who is killed by The Joker. You know the scene where Joker says there is room for one of them in his crew then leaves a broken pool cue for them to fight to the death.

This I suspect has been mentioned but was that Jim Carrey in Earth Girls are Easy playing one of three aliens?

In The Out of Towners (1970),  Jack Lemmon falsely accuses Stallone of stealing his wallet.  He chases after Stallone and removes his wallet, only later to realise he's actually mugged the poor fella.
