Floyd V Canelo. Why it happened, the weight, how many ppv's it will do and who wins
First topic message reminder :
Here it is, a Super Dooper Fight - and on barely 4 months notice!
Very excited for this. In fact I can't wait. Some points to dicuss about the fight.
Why it happened: personally, I feel Mayweather had no other viable options. You know Guerrero didn't sell well and with $32 million guarenteed to Floyd, he needed to a big fight next, and for that there is only Canelo.
The weight: 152 is a tough weight for Canelo to get to as he is huge at weight, but he will get there and with no rehydration clause he will be fit enough to fight.
PPV buys: This fight isn't May 5th weekend, and there is an incredibly short build up for a fight of this magnitude, but I still think it does 1.8-2 million buys. It won't surpass Oscar v Floyd, not this time, but if it's entertaining and we get a May 5th rematch, who knows.
Who wins: Floyd points all day long for me. Alvarez can't out counter the master, and has low output of his own, so unless he KO's the worlds best then he is done. I just hope it is entertaining. Alvarez v Trout was surprisingly entertaining.
What are your thoughts, folks??
Can't wait

Truss - this is called CONSISTENCY. Give it a try sometime.
I'm not the one who wanted to see this fight...I won't be saying this is definitely Top 10 ATg material if he wins...I think that now..
You wanted canelo........Now Floyd is fighting him and you are having a pop..
How about that CONSISTENCY.

I'll be honest with you guys that I can't take this 152 seriously.......I mean all the guys moaning about it are the ones who gave Manny a free ride and hoist up his victories pre-Bradley and Marquez to say he's better than Floyd...
Now If anybody else wants to demean the catchweight fairplay...but If Manny's wins are valid then why not this...
Or is it because it's Floydy and we want to see him beaty....

Nobody is moaning about the 152 Truss, folk are just asking why people who did moan about it for Manny are now not doing likewise for Floyd

I'll try this and move this on by saying Canelo doesn't have to agree to the fight.........and Mayweather didn't have to take the fight....

Money May to win but what a fight. PPV, probably around 1.6-1.9 million, a healthy return.
Canelo is talented (and Irish), and he will bring the fan base for sure.

I think Canelo's timing just might be right...........Approaching his peak..Mayweather's well drying up.......
Mayweather will be nearer 37 than 36....
