Significant SmackDown Spoiler. Empty Significant SmackDown Spoiler.

Post by Samo Wed Jun 12, 2013 4:20 pm

On SmackDown this week, The Shield's unpinned/unsubmitted streak was ended when Bryan, Kane and Orton defeated them in a 6 man tag match.

The best bit is Bryan got the win clean by making Rollins tap to the No Lock.

Now, for me, either A. The WWE are continuing their trend of making champions look weak heading into PPV's, or B. They are really getting behind Bryan.  I hope that Team RK-No lose at Payback, and Orton turns heel on Bryan, leading to a program with the two.  If Bryan continues his work and stays as over as he is, he could be WWE champion within 12 months.  We all knew The Shields streak would end eventually, and that it would be a big rub for whoever did the deed.  Hopefully this is the start of D-Brys big push.

Im not too bothered by this, the Shield are beyond it now, provided it dosnt become a habit and they come out strong at the ppv it shouldn't hurt them at all

It bothers me a bit that they gave away their undefeated streak on Smackdown. They could have saved it for a PPV. Also bothers me that they beat Cena, Ryback & Sheamus but lost to Bryan, Kane & Orton. But taking the positives out of it – Bryan proved he isnt the weak link and was the first man to deliver the Shield their first loss. He’s on the crest of a wave that boy.

It hasn't been that played up recently though, so I don't think it's a big deal.

Doesnt bother me that they beat Cena/ryback but lost to Team Hell No.

In fact I think it makes perfect sense as I said on the podcast a few weeks ago.

A tag team, should always beat two individuals who are paired when facing them in tag situations. Tag teaming is a specialist match and the tag experts should always do better thant he paired individuals.

If The tag champs faced WHC and WWE champ in a tag match, I think the "logical" booking should be a tag champ win.

Still disagree with that last point. I think it should be a close match because of the tag specialists that levels up the fact they are worse individuals, but ultimately ability wins.

Im annoyed they gave it away on Smackdown as Raw would have been really good for it. I will be annoyed if they play off there being disharmony in the team for Payback too cos this result proves there should be

I agree with Adam to a point.  You'd reckon a tag team would be able to beat a thrown together team based purely on great teamwork and chemistry, which is what The Shield was all about. However I think it's a different kettle of fish when its the two World Champs involved.  Could you honestly believe that The Usos could beat John Cena and Dolph Ziggler?

I think there about the only people who haven't beaten Ziggler yet

On Smackdown! really???!! Sucks that they finally lost, in my world they wouldn't lose at all. Fingers crossed they all keep their belts on Sunday. Its nice for Daniel Bryan though, he deserves the push.

What a match, and they really made the win a big moment, both the announcing, wrestlers celebrating and the stream of moves they used to win it

Unbelievable finish, I've heard some people moan sbout this but the timing was great,  the crowd have been going bonkers for DB in his battles with The Shield for a while now and it was an impressive victory, I also disagree entirely that this weakens the Shield, these guys are supposed to be World Class Wrestlers and while they may not be a cohesive unite like the Shield I also believe its unrealistic to think Orton, Kane and Bryan couldn't get a win ovdr the course of so many challenges.

I really hope they dont turn DB heel, he actually is a great serious heel but in this day and age a face that the fans care about passionately is a rarity and this should be exploited

I was shocked. It doesnt hurt The Shield too much as it took an RKO and No Lock for them to lose. They will all be victorious ay Payback anyway.

The only thing that slightly annoys me is they seem to be making Seth Rollins look like the weak link of The Shield. Everytime they lose a match it is always him taking the pin or submission. Aside from whe Dean Ambrose tapped out to The Undertaker, Rollins is the only one to have been pinned or submitte so far...
