Are the lions overtraining? Empty Are the lions overtraining?

Just watched another lions game where one of the important players have pulled up with a hamstring injury.
I might have got this wrong but is that not four players with hamstring problems on the tour. Kearney, North, Roberts and Sexton. Halfpenny was also wearing support tape on his left hamstring today.
I'm not an expert but I think a pulled hamstring is a classic overuse injury.
Anyone else concerned by the number of pulled , torn or tight hamstring injuries this tour.

It always happens the boys have been playing for 10 months now. We always have this on Lions tours, but they can't not run to be fair.

Secondly they are playing 2 games a week as a squad, and something so minor might not be mentioned in the 6 Nations for example where they might have a 2 week break between games.

A lot of players tape up now. It's probably a comfort thing rather than a niggle.

All of the injuries are to backs. That tells you that they are being worked harder in some respects than the forwards. Yes they are 10 months into a season so why are they not being managed properly?
Players will only use tape if they have a reason to in my experience.

Gatland has stated that the game is a lot more physical for backs than it was 4 years ago - I guess that is why he keeps calling up cover replacments

Kearney got his injury in the warm up for the Pro 12 final and Sexton pulled his hamstring v England in the 6N so he'll be vulnerable to a repeat until he gets a good break for the summer.

Gatland is only concerned about the next three weeks, does anyone really think he cares about 'properly' managing injuries?
