Lions haiku

And while we've got those creative juices flowing, how about trying your hand at a British & rish Lions haiku to pass the time:

Hogg was not a ten,
He attacks and he defends,
Fifteen is his best.

Knock yer socks off!

While that has the syllabic flow of a Haiku, it is really far too poetic, and contains no seasonal reference. So far less poetic but:

The Lions Went To Oz,
The Summer turns to winter
We are divided.

Like it, LT

The North versus South
Power against speed and skill
One big illusion

A side with a lid
16 year old Black Bush
A Lions adventure

Fry up in the pub
A pint at 10 in the morn
It’s Lions time again

4 nations together
One ultimate goal
Bickering is fun

A North wind will blow
Scattering Wallaby dreams
Poor old Matilda

So much ambition
Grand ideas mixed with big dreams
Only to be dashed

Loving the creativity, keep them coming

Haiku or we ku
He she or it ku they ku

Very interesting. Never heard of a haiku. 606 never fails to surprise and educate.

I read up on it on Wikipedia and I still dont know what they are. Never heard of them before but they seem to have three common characteristics: a cutting word (WTF?), juxtaposition and seasonal reference. Made up of three verses of 5,7 and 5 on (again WTF?)

An 'on' is an inflection, which is like a syllable in Japanese but not entirely.
Most English speakers just work in three lines - 5 syllables, then 7, then 5 again

YES!! A seasonal reference, a dash of wit and the juxtaposition of north and south. I think this is what the japanese are after. You even have a cutting word in there demostrating the difference between North and south.
