Rafa need no sympathy, come on - Page 4 Empty Rafa need no sympathy, come on

Post by invisiblecoolers Mon 24 Jun 2013, 11:18 pm

First topic message reminder :

Rafa just lost a match, its not a serious crime nor a serious problem, people are pouring comments oh I hope all is well etc,..

Rafa would be the first to stay away from such sympathies, he is a champ and need no sympathies, in sports winning and losing are port of it, did any body forget whats written on the Wimbledon gate before the players enter the court? if so I will summarize it

"Accept Win and loss in the same manner and not as personal disaster", for those who wants the exact words, check youtube there is a lovely video of Rafa and Roger reading those words.

Darcis won the match and the day and his fans and the fans of underdogs earned the right of celebration just like how Rafa earned the right of celebration after the FO triumph.

Indeed a break from Tennis is a much needed thingy in his life, and he could spend some precious time with his girl friend , family and friends doing many other things he love.

I am not worried about what happened today from Rafa's perspective nor gonna offer any condolences or sympathies for this silly loss, coz I know whats Rafas capability and he has in him to comeback harder, even if he fails like haddie use to say he is still 12 time GS champion and thats one huge of a tag to carry on for the entire life.

@ Lags, well we have been advocating that Nadal was fine atleast till the start of the match and his loss might be more due to lack of practice on grass and the low bounce than injury prematch.

Unfortunately its very difficult to make Rafito believe this could be the case, I atleast understand their coz as its difficult for them to over come the loss like that but what was strange and annoying is sympathies from neutral circle as if he was admitted in the hospital.

It was just a match and Darcis had his moments, poor Darcis didnt even turn up for the next match citing shoulder injury, if there was one guy was injured it was Darcis, so it makes Darcis win now extra special.

@Lags: Well I was with you on that one buddy. I didn't like the assumption that he was injured - it's made all too quickly when Rafa loses.

Tiger Woods knee breaks down repeatedly.
Del Potro rested his knee a few months back
Federer's back was done in following a month of rest at IW
Sergio Marries re-injured his knee
Floyd Mayweather broke his hand again, having not done it in two years
Graeme Smith buggered his knee again this year (having had his best summer in years, impossible?)
Sachin Temdulkar used to have bouts of tennis elbow.
Dwayne Wade buggered his knee up again this year, having enjoyed his best shooting year. Didnt need surgery, just had a bad Play off. Was fine for finals

But wait, this is tennis, and it requires unique skills, and such is impossible or whatever Homogenised normally cries.

That knee has done a lot of work since Rafa's return. Rafa has got to the final or won every tournament he has played until now. That means he has played every available match. Not many players are good enough to have that problem. Just checked and that's 47 matches since February. Compare that with Murray who has only played 32 matches since the beginning of the year. Also people can say whatever they like but Nadal was clearly hampered in his first round match. Sometimes judgements should be made by the evidence on the court not what people choose to say or not say afterwoods. But of course no one has to be sympathetic...

Well Toni's come out publicly and said the knee was fine, soo I think it should be left there... expect this. Is it possible that some of it is psychosomatic?

Naa, I expected Lu to fight, Lu has downed Andy Roddick in the past in the grass which is no mean feat, I even silently expected an upset so I could win PG hands down laughing, so in my view its a very good performance by Andy.drumroll

Wipe your tears of HE, after all he just won a GS, success and failure are part and parcel of life, you don't need excuses for his loss, its done and dusted , Darcis was actually injured during the match yet he focused on to win it.thumbsup

What a hero fighting through injury to take Nadal out

"After the match (key words), a few hours after, I start to feel
so much pain, I couldn't sleep that night,"

It is sad though. Made 20k more than he expected, big difference for journeymen, probably got himself a few endorsements as well.

We're all assuming its an injury its more probably soreness and fatigue that let him down.

If I was Rafa and felt the knees straining and was not 100% fit, I'd try to win the points cheaply, ie not running everything down, but if you really watch the replay, you'll see he has no depth of shot, no real power to hurt Darcis.

Many things can be the cause of this, but considering his FO kamikaze run to the final and win , I'd say it took too much out of his rehab and could not be effective on court, on grass or anywhere.

It doesn't have to be an injury, but if he felt too much pain when stretching for balls, he's not going to risk a real bad injury for one slam of the year.

invisiblecoolers. Do you think I would prefer Nadal to be injured and not just have had a surprising loss? I would imagine most tennis lovers would not want Nadal to be unable to play for eight months in a repeat of last year. But then after witnessing that ugly crowd what do I know...
