Given how (fairly) poorly the brit WC's have been operating soo far, should they have considered giving Evans a shot? Or would that have likely been a wildcard unfairly given out?

Well considering he had his chance via the qualifiers and fell at the first hurdle I would say they were right not to give him a wildcard.
