Rankin, best econ of all bowlers. It is what T20 is all about.

202 to get. There is absolutely zero tension, zero pressure, and zero importance to this game. Hales or Morgan to ton up, England to win by 4 wickets.

easily Marcus. they'll lose early wickets and struggle to get above 6 an over. all out for 16 overs.

1-31 is a pretty good return for Dernbach

More signs of inept Giles letting a word class t20 side bat first and set and out of sight score so your struggling team have to chase.

As much as we all hate Giles, he made an ODI final in his first 6 months and lost a T20 final to a side more suited for it. Nothing to sniff at

Decent start from England.
I really like the look of Hales. I hope he doesn't get typecast as a one day biffer, as I think he can offer a lot more than just that. Very good technique, with lots of power.

This is how they should have batted against the Indians on Sunday.

Entirely different pitch though Marcus. This one is soooo flat. 67/1 after 6.

Completely different conditions.Marcus wrote:This is how they should have batted against the Indians on Sunday.
And, at one stage on Sunday, they only needed 20 off 2.5 overs with 6 wickets in hand.

Hales out, 39 from 29. Hopefully that can inspire a bit of form and confidence in the man.
Need a special innings from someone to get over the line now, hoping Mogs can get some runs and be that guy.

It's going fine, we are on the run rate and Wright has played himself in from what I can see from the updates and Morgan can keep the rate up happily enough. This NZ team always had more in batting terms than bowling

75 needed from 42 with 8 wickets left. Should be fine from here on. Should.

another fails and kiwi celebrates like they've won because, in reality that's it. you can't make up another 30 on top of 30 with this approach.
well done NZ, too good today. getting used to saying that again, it's like the 90's for eng fans.

well it's climbing away and bops wants to waste a few overs by the looks of it.
I wasn't wrong was I cj. once again a shambles bowling, a decent start batting then a collapse. it's a pattern again these days.

Bopara is proof of the existence of aliens. He has obviously been abducted and replaced with a SuperBopara clone.

Re: 1st IT20 - England vs New Zealand - The Oval
Luke Wright should 100% of been in the ICC Trophy squad, bloke is class, carried us today!
All joking a side, i am shocked at the earlier comments people said he was rubbish, i have been watching Sussex since 2007 when Wright emerged onto the scene and to say he is rubbish, really is saying something. He is superb in one day cricket at both batting and bowling. Also a very nice chap.
Haven't seen much of the game as i have been at tennis practice, but it sounds like our weak bowling attack disappointing, batted pretty well though!
Buzzing for these last 3 overs though!

sort of thing you can do when setting the score but not when under pressure to chase. silly choice to bat second really.
