Whole tournament is turning into a slight joke now, Nadal losing and then the entertaining Tsonga possibly leaving early. Real shame.
Jeez get a grip.. give the groundsmen the benefit of doubt. They've been doing an immaculate job for years on end. Suddenly you get a few slips, some players get injured and suddenly the whole tournament is a slight joke
What do you want them to do? lay down another piece of turf in the middle of the tournament ?

Re: Wimbledon Day 3
No I'm kind of just disappointed for the tournament, losing the top players and the entertaining players is a real shame and just takes something away from it for me, maybe saying 'joke' was too much but this is ridiculous this year. Murray's route this year is embarrassing easy for a slam until he meets Federer

Re: Wimbledon Day 3
Gulbis just saying that he found CC okay, but ask Roger or Novak both of whom more used to the courts. He stress he has practised every day on the grass.
Murray seems okay on C1.

Clay is probably the worst surface to have preceding Wimbledon, but its been this way for years. No clue whats happening, not looking to the Groundmen yet. Maybe they heeded the call to make it sicker?

Gutted for Tsonga, has he seriously pulled out? What on earth happened to him?
Youzhny finally beats Pospisil, 6-2, 6-7, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. I pretty much saw it all, what a match, a combined 119-47 winners to errors between them.

Woah, that's awesome!
That's cool John; I agree it's a shame for the tourney.
Was Cilic also in Murray's quarter?

yup, Cilic vs Tsonga could have been a great R4 match too, Gulbis has a great chance to make the QFs now, surely...

Good grief, another one?! It has to be said, that's pretty bizarre for only three days in. And some huge names to be affected too, such a shame. The bottom half of the draw has been utterly devastated.

Murray looking strong, confident, dominant, holds to love in double quick time for 4-2. Lu battling to cling on at the moment.

With Azarenka and now Sharapova facing the exit the ladies matches might be a tad quieter!

Re: Wimbledon Day 3
Stepanek, Isner, Darcis, Azarenka, Shvedova, Cilic and Tsonga have all surrendered to injury today. Now Sharapova has slipped.
Stay on your feet Murray, and you may win Wimbledon by default. He's purring along at the minute.

Did Tsonga withdraw citing an injury?
So many players have slipped and got injured in this tournament so far, are people gonna raise voice against Wimbledon grass like they did against Blue clay? or they just feared of Wimbledon authorities that they will keep mum?

A potentially easier quarter-final for Murray then should he get there.

Stepanek, Isner, Darcis, Azarenka, Shvedova, Cilic and Tsonga - injured and out
Sharapova - fell and nearly out
wozniacki - fell and out
hewitt - out
what a day and what a list of casualties.

Re: Wimbledon Day 3
Well rule Stepanek out of the list as his was a hamstring injury that could happen on any surface. Darcis was caused when he dived to make a shot apparently and not sure 100% about the others.

Re: Wimbledon Day 3
Murray eventually forces the break and takes the second set 6-3, so far so good against an admittedly limited opponent.

Re: Wimbledon Day 3
Tsonga and Azarenka both knee issues due to falls, Shvedova apparently had an arm injury going into the match and decided not to compete as a result. Not sure about Isner.
Robredo's dominating Mahut right now, 2-0 in sets seems imminent.

Re: Wimbledon Day 3
Lu is having huge problems with the ball toss. I wouldn't say he is limited though as has been to QF's before here. Again a business-like performance from Murray if unspectacular.

Sharapova 5-3 down........on the verge of exit. Basically give Williams the title now.

Sharapova's saved four match points, can't say she isn't gutsy. High quality hitting in this game from both ladies.

Federer bites bullet to save the break points on his serve, Stako got a lovely grass game, S&V is not completely dead.
