Bellew v Stevenson On??
“@TonyBellew: I'm so happy it's unreal! Lets just say **** just got real!

Looks like things are progressing well. How do you all see this fight panning out?
I definately think Bellew can win. Stevenson was starched by Darnell Boone (the only man to put Ward down)

Only seen Stevenson KO Dawson so apart from power I know nothing else. I don't think Bellow is World Champ level and no doubt the fight will be in Stevenson's home town so would favour Stevenson.

Bellew is limited, and certainly not as good as he seems to think he is, but having said that Stevenson is something of an unknown quantity at light-heavy.
A good fight should it come off, but I couldn't pick a winner at this stage.

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
Stevenson KO is my bet. Bellew has been outboxed by chilemba and has been decked a couple of times as well. I just don't think he is world level. If he does scrape a win then he wont be holding on for long. If he does win be good to see a unification between him and cleverly again though.

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
Neither of these guys are elite - I've been reasonably impressed with Bellew though despite his struggles with Chilemba. I can see Bellew decisioning this he just has to stay away from that right hand and he can outbox Stephenson who has looked a bit of a plodder to me.

Does anyone know if Stevensons power carries well as the rounds progress
He can be outboxed and Bellew has the size and jab to do it over the course of 12
I'm sure he will have to suck it up once or twice throughout and it will be if he can come through that if e'll win or not

He was soldier, ... but if the punch on ward had happened earlier in the round, there's a good chance he'd have been starched too... The son of god was seeing angels. Ward's career has turned out ok. Boone took kovalev to a split decision first time out - he has a journeyman record but is capable of big performances.
It tells us Stevenson can be hurt though... and we know bellew can too. Stevenson bangs harder and is faster, bellew is bigger and maybe tougher. Decent match up, the longer it goes on the better bellew's chances.
Mamba, he might want to stay clear of the big left hand too!

Good fight, we know Bellew is there to hit, and Stevenson does hit hard. Think you're all right in the consensus that the longer it goes the better Bellews chances.

Bellew just tweeted another hint, maybe they will announce it on ringside tonight?

All will be revealed in good time, what we do know is Superman ain't gonna be flying into any other bad guys without going through me first
...which to me indicates that he has been made mandatory by the WBC (which he was anyway, wasn't he?), looks like another twitter non-story to me.

Stevenson can't bypass him, unless its a unification.

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
I think if Stevenson came to the UK and starched Bellew it would be great for building Froch v Stevenson back at 168. Brit fans would know him and SKY could build it nice and easy. But back to the fight. Stevenson KO

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
If I was Stevenson I think I'd want Bellew even if he wasn't my mandatory. Let's face it, the LHW division is a mixed bag but the Bomber is well ranked and Stevenson will fancy his chances so why not?
Tony will be up for it though, no doubt about it. I hope they sorted a date/venue etc, definitely one to look forward to.

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
bellew's mouth got him noticed when the first fight with cleverly fell through, but all credit to guy, he has put in the hard work, come one leaps and bounds- fought good opposition, rectified both poor performances (chimbela and mckensie) and has earned his shot the hard way. if you told me 18 months ago tony would be number 1 contender i would have laughed at you. he wears his heart on his sleeve and sometimes says silly things directly after fights, but i've come to like him too.
that said stevensons 1st round KO of a elite fighter in dawson was mightily impressive and the bomber needs to box very very careful. i think if he connects on anyone at light heavy its over, so bellew needs to box every minute of every round, and not get drawn into a scrap- which he is often guilty of.

Alternatively, it was a lucky punch against a former elite fighter who hadn't recovered from his trip south to 168.

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
maybe, but he has 18 KOs from 21 wins, 9 of them in the first round, thats quite a run of luck if so.
why does a loss to ward at a lower weight mean you no longer an elite fighter, theres no shame in losing to the p4p 2, and he is only 30, so not aging or anything.
what would be a great fight would be froch at 168, granite chin against ko power.

I think Bellew can beat this guy. He looks much more difficult to beat when he focuses on his boxing.

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
Bellew talks a good game but that's about it.
Stevenson, although he was sloppy against Boone - he'd already dropped Boone twice prior to Boone's KO punch.
Stevenson has the skills needed to box, but his power means he normally ends the fight early.
Stevenson will KO Bellew.

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
Some guys get a ridiculously easy ride on 666... Golovkin's last five opponents have lost 29 fights between them, and he is seen as king in waiting. Stevenson beat the old king and he hasnt beaten anybody.
Regardless, Adonis (Always thought thats an awesome ring name on its own, I mean, Broner is "The Problem") will prove his mettle once and for all. Thereafter Bellow will also become a nobody.

I@m putting Chad.........in context
Bentt-Morrison was a case of a no good puncher getting lucky against a good heavy...
Maybe you've never heard of the fight.......
You can't rate stephenson on landing a dream shot..after a minute!!
great win for sure but you know Rahman knocked out Lewis...Doesn't tell us anything..

That last comment wasnt really directed at you Trussy, I was just airing out a pet peeve which I have.
Hadnt heard of the fight to be completely honest, Will have a lookie. I dont however, think Stevenson just got lucky, he should be nicknamed Kid Dynamite with those hands, Dawson gets dropped by Stevenson 8/10, I think.

Re: Bellew v Stevenson On??
Just saw Bentt-Morrison, I can see why you would class it in the same manner of victory, I just think Adonis has that little bit more skill... Bellew only has 12 KOs, so I dont think he's going to hurt him. But this is boxing, anything can happen.

when your main objective is to hit your opponent hard in the head i don't think much luck was involved.
if dawson hadn't recovered from weighing half a stone less than he usually does after about 8 months i don't think he'll ever recover.

You're missing my point, which was that it is not possible to rate Adonis as a light heavyweight based on just over a minute's action.

UC is right. It proves he's got a dig, nothing more. You can watch him on the heavy bag to determine that.
