The Boxnation band of promoters
So Hattton (who has something of a stable), Maloney (who has one fighter), McGuigan (ditto) and Warren have all banded togeher to try and give Boxnation more of a platform.
Do you think this will attract new fans?
Will we actually get better fights? Who would be matched from each stable now?
What do you guys reckon, does this impact the sport in any significant manner?

Re: The Boxnation band of promoters
Sky have faced opposition in the past and crushed them all.
BT Vision got owned when it tried to take Football
Setanta got crushed when it tried to take boxing
Virgin got crushed when it tried to take....everything (Sky absolutely decimate the market share, not saying they're failed or anything)
Basically the big Sky machine always prevails. Sometimes it takes months, sometimes years, but its undeniable that if you want exposure, money and the platform - Sky is the way to go. Look what they've done to F1.

Would agree but how much does Sky want to fight for boxing?
If they thought it was worth fighting for I think they would have blown boxnation away by now. Just don't think they feel there is enough of an audience to cater for and would rather look at sports that have the fans and the better schedule for television (F1 races are at the same time every year and planned in advance without injuries stopping races before they start).

As someone who worked for ondigital/itvdigital I'd just like to add they crushed us too.
Deep pockets lots of lawyers.
As said though, sky don't seem to want to do boxing themselves and they are the primary outlet for watching boxnation on. They'll be taking a healthy chunk of frank's pennies for the privilege.
I said this before, but it's perfect for them.. they get to see if the model works without any risk. Watch, learn then can it, buy it, or replicate and crush the original depending on what makes business sense. Nobodies fools.

Re: The Boxnation band of promoters
Sky will take boxing when they see fit. Mayweather vs Pacquiao has box office written all over it. If Frank thinks Boxnation would outbid Sky then they're sorely mistaken. Sky wait, they take the big fights that are going to make the most money and make them box office or show them on Sky Sports. The ones they have trouble with are the late starters, mainly because they're shown at times when their peak audience is in bed.
I think Sky are as Milky says, just waiting.

It's what Sky+ was invented for....to accomodate the lazy or those with kids who can't face a day of screaming toddlers after an hours sleep.

There's probably a very good reason for it but I'm working hard on being nice to you at the minute so I'll keep quiet.

Well, I appreciate the effort. Is it because we share a very similar taste in music?
