Jorge Lorenzo breaks collarbone at Assen
Double MotoGP world champ suffers huge crash at Assen.
Flying to Barcelona to have surgery.
Depending on recovery could be back within 4 weeks or if its more severe 8 weeks.
Pedrosa's got the chance to take this season by the horns now.
I wish Lorenzo a swift return from injury.

Seriously??????
What a shame, things like this basically ruin a season. Okay, he might only miss a couple of races but that's all the difference needed. Pedrosa's been thrown a huge title gift.

Lorenzo's camp has said Jorge will race in Germany in 2 weeks times.
Seems a very quick turnaround from a massive injury.

Collar bones are relatively easy to fix for the GP riders I think. Cal broke one last year at Silverstone and was back shortly after it. What is a real shame though is that the title's been near enough decided by injury again!!

Re: Jorge Lorenzo breaks collarbone at Assen
Yeah, collarbones are there to break, it's basically a safety mechanism that breaks under pressure to protect other parts of that region. Usually it's around 6 weeks + to full recover but Jorge will be rushed back because of the Championship. Basically for two races he's going to be in some kind of pain, playing damage limitation to Dani and will probably lose time over a race distance.

Might as well hand Pedrosa the title!!
"Update on Marquez after FP3 crash. Fit to ride in Q2, broken toe on right foot & broken little finger, right hand. Hip & shoulder bruising."

Jorge Lorenzo has rebroken the same shoulder in another massive accident this time in Germany.
He's out of the German GP and is touch and ago for Laguna.
Might be best for Lorenzo to get fit for 2014. As his shoulder like still be a problem for the rest of 2013.

This is unbelievable, just seen it on BBC. Think Jorge`s trying to kill himself ASAP.
Shame for the season really, should probably think about focusing on next season but its only half way through season isn't it.

If Rossi wins both Germany and Laguna and Lorenzo misses both races then Yamaha could have a problem.
Indy is a tough track and Lorenzo will still be hurting come there.
Would he yield to the Doctor?

Re: Jorge Lorenzo breaks collarbone at Assen
Doubt Rossi will win both races. Assen was a great ride but expect Honda`s to bounce back, knowing they can take advantage of Jorge being absent. Whatever happens to Jorge, he's going to be handicapped significantly and struggling towards the end of races but if he does well in terms of damage limitation, then he could still challenge come the season end. Too early to call really but if Rossi is in position for the title, then I would expect Jorge to yield for the teams benefit but I don't think it will come to that. Jorge should only miss one race and be hurting for a couple after that and also in his favour is the long mid summer break. Jorge could be back to full fitness come end of august in the Czech Rep.
Don't rule out Lorenzo

Pedrosa is probably out of qualifying and is a major doubt for the race after falling off and suffering a suspected concussion. Suddenly, everything is looking hunky-dory for Marquez.

Re: Jorge Lorenzo breaks collarbone at Assen
Just seen the Pedrosa crash, nasty impact on his shoulder/collar-bone. Crazy stuff. Marquez must be licking his lips this weekend with both his biggest rivals suffering.
I really do think that Lorenzo won't be in too much trouble in terms of the championship. We're not half way through yet and the month long summer break will help him recover.
