I think he'd have chanced his arm at the tap and go for an easier pen or a dg.

There is also an option to go for touch which would have resulted in the end of the game as it was after 80 minutes and there was no time for a lineout.

Very Happy Probably true Ruby, but he'd have taken a minute or two to decide and then asked the ref if he could change his mind.

Not sure who was captain at the end (BOD?) but they surely asked Halfpenny if he thought he could make it and then you have to go with the kicker. Wise heads were needed but it is very difficult for the kicker to say he doesn't think he can make a kick or for anybody else to overrule him.

It was within range so he or anyone would have said kick for goal. This is a chap who can apparently kick from near his own 10m line so he should have thought it was within range. 

Not sure how much fatigue was part of it but a little bit disappointed it didn't get have the legs. Doesn't matter though.... He kept us in it in the last test. H

I would have tapped and gone. Sitting at home watching, I was thinking if I'd been the kicker I would have gone for it for a chance to be the hero, but I think after the penalty that hit the bar earlier in the game the option was to try and get a penalty even 10m closer.
