Monster man mountain
It was worth losing the match just to see George North pick up and piledrive the man he was meant to be tackled by.
Pure brute strength and comedy gold at its best.
Shame Gatland's shocking game plan failed to utilise the genetic anomaly that is North.

Although it was quite fortuitous that North didnt twist his neck badly when he pile drove himself into the turf at the end of the tackle. It wouldnt have been quite so good if he had been stretchered off, particulalry as "get the ball to George" appears to be the only backs move in the Lions locker just now.

Re: Monster man mountain
I didn't see any effort to get the ball to the wings all game!
Box kick
Up and under
Win penalty and kick to touch
Lose own lineout
That's all I saw. The team and coach should br cited for shocking tactics and crimes against the viewing public.

Re: Monster man mountain
Out of interest, could Israel have been penalised for a dangerous tackle, after all he was the tackler so it was his duty to ensure George wasn't brought to the groung head first? And likewise if George just threw him off once his feet were off the deck what would the ref do, is there such a thing as a dangerous fend?
Either way it seemed to rally the Lions for a short while, and will no doubt be one of the tour highlights.

It was a fairly absurd sight but it was just lucky neither player was injured really.
It just goes to show how uninspiring the Lions were when that was a top moment.

Even as a Wallabies fan I had to laugh when North picked him up and carried him, hilarious. Some very funny photoshopped pics of him online now. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-2351612/Lions-tour-2013-George-North-virals-winger-carrying-Israel-Folau.html

T1000 must say I agree. Poor tactics and decision making cost the lions the match.
Great by north though. As you say he was poorly under utilised.

It showed his enthusiasm, but it was a pretty stupid move, all told. Once Folau was in the air, North was only ever coming to ground head first and was lucky to escape serious injury, for which he'd only have had himself to blame. He's a serious talent, but if he keeps playing like that he won't last long.

Took me right back to watching WWF on channel4 many years ago. I'm fairly sure that was Triple H's move that he copied.
On a serious note though I was shocked by how poor under the high ball both lions wings were. Australia's winger showed them both up repeatedly.
